    3" exhaust reducing down to 2 1/2" after x-pipe

Nice! I'm going to run the 3" x pipe to my 2 1/2" mufflers. I will have a 3" straight flow to my electric cut outs. Exhaust will run to the bumper. Street car and call it good. Thanks everyone for the input. Andrew

    3" exhaust reducing down to 2 1/2" after x-pipe

Interesting, my pypes 2 1/2" Violators flow 453 cfm, and straight 2 1/2" pipe is 500 cfm. What would 511 cubic inch motor need for flow?

    3" exhaust reducing down to 2 1/2" after x-pipe

Wife likes the dumps. Makes her happy and it's easy since I already have them. Thanks for the input. My 2 1/2" mufflers flow 450cfm. It's should work and the cut outs give me the option. Andrew

    3" exhaust reducing down to 2 1/2" after x-pipe

Will I loose any significant power by running a 3" exhaust and reducing it to 2 1/2" after the x-pipe? I will be making over 600hp and it will be difficult to run 3" all the way out to the back. I thought I saw something that mentioned that the first 4' matters most. Thanks Andrew

To run cutouts or not run cutouts, that is the question.

I like mine.... they are fun out in the back roads and my kids & wife get a kick out of it. Do what you like. "A"

    Exhaust cutouts

I have the pypes cut outs and they did exactly as jbc mentioned. I called pypes, and they were not helpful. I would a try an alternate brand. Andrew

    3" TTIs

my friend has a 67 dart and bought the 3" system with the x pipe. He ended up stepping it down to 2 1/2" out to the rear of the car after the x- pipe.

    Pypes exhaust

I ended up taking my system to the local shop and they ended up cutting it all up to get it to fit correctly. They told me that they could have custom built me a better set up for the same money. At the end of the day it cost me $300.00 to have it corrected. I also bought a set of the HYE-10...

    Opinions on exhaust

The kick over the rear end was way off and they did not line up at all with the TTI headers. I probably only used half of the system. The shop told me they could have built the same thing with less cuts for $300.00 CDN (I am not sure if that would have included the mufflers).

Thanks! That's the better part of the summer of 2008 spent in a 10' x 20' garage with countless dollars, lots of frustration and one pissed off girlfriend. The pypes system works well, but it was not a direct bolt on like stated in their ad. I would buy what ever mufflers you like and have your...

Pypes stainless street pro with exhaust are tame until you stomp your foot into it and they are priced right aswell. Here is a link if you are interested with 2 1/2" x pipe. Andrew http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvIAJmV3RMg

    Pypes exhaust

I just ordered a set of Pypes Violator along with TTI's for my 383 Dart. I read on one of the boards that the system was intially designed with a 68 383 Dart with 1 3/4 TTI headers. I wont have time to install them for another month or two, but I'm quite confident everything should fit...
