    Fan Advice

I'd call Summit. I can't believe Hayden, Four Seasons, or Flex-a-lite, don't have a reasonably priced unit that would work? Some of them might require a fan blade replacement also, but that might be a small price to pay for going to a clutch style system. Other then a all out race car, that...

    340 overheating problem

Has this current setup run cool before and this is something new, or has it been like this from the git go? The fact that at idle, low speeds, and highway are all the same, tells me it's not the fan position causing it. Any chance your running ignition timing that's on the low/retarded side...

    Which water pump?

As long as you were cooling fine before, I'd just hunt down a reasonable cost new stock replacement pump for your application. As far as the 6/8 blade issue, i agree it may have been dictated by pulley ratio.....but the blade angle could have played a role in that also?

    Thermostat help

Unless you drive the car a lot in the winter, in your climate, i'd stick with the 180* stat. unless you have to have the heat. The only reason i can see getting condensation in the oil is because it sit's too much for a extended period in the cold. Even if you get a extended period of snow/ice...

    Fan clutch

I sure hope so.... Maybe not summer, but we have a daughter getting married in NE Maryland on Sept. 21. Linda's cancer checkup July 30th might throw a wrench into our plan's if things don't check out well, but we're optimistic. If I don't make that wedding...i'm toast.....lol. I'll definitely...

    Fan clutch

This clutch seams to fit 68-70 cars at least. It's a thermal, which I believe is what you'd want. Might check it out if a local store has one you can look at..........It fits 68 & up 340 Cuda's also, from what I've found...

    What is this

Cool! Glad we figured it out......was driving me nuts, lol. Guess my memory wasn't as bad as i thought when i said i didn't remember it on mine? I'm sure mine was a east coast car. I'll bet there was some other goodies like that on it though . It wasn't a hot rod to me, just a driver...

    What is this

No doubt you can remove it......not hooked to anything now....lol. It is curious though. I briefly had a 71' Scamp w/fact a/c and i don't remember anything like that? I was 30+ years ago though :D. You might be able to check a wiring diagram if you can figure out what wires might have gone to...

    What is this

What your describing here sound like a blower relay to me. Aftermarket maybe? Was there ever a aftermarket a/c ever on the car?

Magnum in 70 Dart, can't keep it cool.

Could the carb be too lean? Also, i don't have personal experience with the magnum (outside a few trucks) but isn't the pump a reverse rotation. I see you have the serpentine system, could you have gotten the wrong pump? Just throwing out some ideas.

    Help with Cooling Issue Please

John, when you were at 55mph the fan isn't doing squat. I think "bomber" is right about the stat......do you know what it's rated? I'm guessing 195*. Also, for low speeds and traffic, i don't think a 16" elec. fan is gonna be big enough....imo. And you live in Florida and yes i'm jealous i'm not...
