how strong is the 8 3/4 #741 case?

If you're putting a B-body rearend in an A-body your going to need to narrow it a bit and probably buy some new axles at that time. Tom

    K frame ID

I would never try using the damper for a support. Plywood under the pan could smash the pan into the pick up. Building a U-shaped cradle out out some 2" x material that catches the sides of the oil pan rail would be a better place to support the engine in my opinion. Tom

    K frame ID

I know people install engine all the time using a lifting plate mounted mounted to an aluminum intake, but I am hear to tell you that using the threads in an aluminum intake is a very poor and dangerous setup. Most aluminum intakes are not cast from high quality materials. The four 5/16" carb...

    Lexus SC300/SC400 front suspension

At 14.5" with your tires which are 26.5" tall and I was wanting to run a 25" tall tire. That would make the top of the mounting point on the crandle 13.75" So I need to make the bottom of the rails on my car 13.75" to be at stock ride height for a Lexus suspension. That help me very a lot...

    Lexus SC300/SC400 front suspension

Here's what measurement I was after since the measurement in the image was without a drive train. I wonder what it is on a complete car? This will help me see where the frame needs to be at normal ride height when grafting into a different body. Thanks Tom

    Lexus SC300/SC400 front suspension

Here's some really nice photos of the front clip within this ad for a $1250 manual steering rack for a Toyota Supra. Which is what a Lexus SC is since Toyota also owns Lexus. Nice clean looking light weight front suspension and I can't wait to get my hands on one. MKIV Supra Manual Steering...

    Lexus SC300/SC400 front suspension

That narrow CV crossmember is fabricated steel and is $795. If your going that route you might as well just build your own. My idea for wanting to using a Lexus clip is to gain width inside the engine compartment and shedding weight at the same time. After some research using a 92-98 SC300 will...

    Lexus SC300/SC400 front suspension

This is a really interesting thread. I am thinking I like the SC400 maybe better than the CV frontend. For a guy with more time than money this might be the ticket for a lighter weight drag car frontend. Tom

    Reworking an 8 1/4 and can't find ?

I made two adjusters so I can slide one in each tube and it makes setting them up a lot faster than switching from side to side. Since we do a lot of 8.25" work we have T-handles welded onto the bars and don't need a rachet to adjust them. It's a must to build an adjustment wrench before you...

Manual steering box with 35 spline

It should be a 5/8"-36 spline all the boxes from 62-up used this spline. There are several different spline sizes with in the 5/8"-36 size. 600", 605", and .620" on the major diameter, but a Mopar takes one with the .620" major outside diameter. This is the same size a Stiletto rack uses. I...
