quick question, why didn't you use a threaded rod that matched the pitch and thread of the valve cover bolts, chop em into tiny pieces, and double nut and insert them into the block and use nuts to secure the valve cover down that way while also preventing gasket drift? I guess this is just a...

Read em both. First one is all stuff you already know probably bout the slant. The procharged slant was actually pretty cool and impressive but thats a lot of cash to spend on a slant

If that slant 6 has that much balls that it needs ball joints, that'd be one ballsy and built slant.:burnout:

Your bushings are probably shot unless someone did em recently. Old cars are notorious for the rubber bits rotting and those are the worst about it.

These guys got it. I'd also pack a few lil spare parts just incase.

a tip on what I do and what has helped me is using my own hand as a model. helps get the perspective you want.

grab the tip of the round with a pair of pliers and pour all the powder out and strike the primer on the end with a punch. you can buy dummy belts off ebay relatively easily. you could also use some quick steal to seat em to the cover

AMighta just been replaced if the original blew up. I'd just leave it a slant 6 anyhow and just cruise around

E-body slant 6 cars are very rare. supposedly rarer than Hemi E-body cars
