installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Thanks for all of your answers guys. Looks like I am trying to hit too many birds with one stone. Time to focus on getting the big and more complicated stuff to fit first.

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Thanks King James, Wisdom can only be gained when you have been through an event. Since this is my first rodeo, I ask questions and listen to those who have come before me. He loved me and I knew Him.

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Thanks for the info. I did use the Black RTV on the corner studs, so I hope they don't leak. When I got the car 25 years ago it had 318 manifolds on it, so that is why all the HP manifold stuff is new to me. I did look at the Remfex gaskets after I bought some NOS Mr. Gasket gaskets from the...

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Thanks! That does sound pretty reasonable. That right side has to wrap around the steering column. I just don't want to try and jam a torque wrench in there.

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Wow! That looks like a bunch of work. But if you are trying to stuff a big block in a small block hole...

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Under the hood has not been painted in around 50 years, so no problem there. As far as why.... I am old and wrenching under the car is just not as much fun as it use to be. So I am trying to get everything that i can on the engine when it is easy to do.

installing 340 in 69 dart with exhaust manifolds bolted on

Thanks for looking. I have never done these things and looking for some advice. Getting ready to put my 340 back into my 69 dart with power steering. Will it go in with the HP manifolds bolted on? The right side should not be a problem, but that left side.... Also can the four speed go in...

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

Yes, I will give this a shot. I do wish to step up to a blue print engine at some point and i can use this damper on that! Thanks for your help!!

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

I found this to work as a damper BluePrint Engines Harmonic Balancers BPP360 Pretty cool unit. Works for pretty much all small blocks

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

Ok, I get it. I went out and looked at the harmonic balancer on the car, it is for a forged crank since it has no weights on it. So, when the motor was rebuilt using a 318 crank they balanced the crank to fit the dampener and flywheel. I bought a cast crank for a 340 years ago, did not check...

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

I still have the cast crank that was replaced. I looked up the casting number #2653393. That is a 318 crank! No wonder the thrust went out!! What a mess!!

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

So a cast crank flywheel is different from a steel crank flywheel?

Yet another question on vibration (Not the good kind)

My car is a 69 dart 340 4-speed. The engine starts to rattle and roll at 3,000 RMP, kinda like a tweaker on a 2 week binge. An old time Mopar guy told me the flywheel is on wrong. A bit of background: This is the original engine for the car. At some point a cast crank was put in the place of...

    Intake manifold gaskets

Thanks for looking. I have a 69 swinger with a 340 and x-heads. I am going to replace the intake gaskets because I think they are leaking. I would also like to plug off the heat riser while I am at it. I looked at Summit and saw Mother Mopar has a intake gasket with this plug in the kit. Has...
