Yes, you can. The insurance companies I have been in touch with has never asked about the steering column lock or any other theft prevention items installed by the factory/importer.

I got that steering lock on my column as well (but no key). Mine is a 67 Valiant but the column is from a 68 Valiant. It had to with Swedish insurance policies back in the sixties I have been told. When I bought my car it had the original column with no steering lock which I had to change for...

Well, I thought so to. But I think it´s ridiculous that you need them to get the car through the state inspection and the minute later you don´t.

Did you mount the reflectors prior to the inspection as just in case. Or did the guys at the inspection told you that the car needed those. I ask because mine got through the state inspection without any extra reflectors.

Looking real good! One question though: On my ´67 Valiant the lenses for the parking light are white . Did the ´65 Dart Charger came with orange ones from the factory? As I recall it was a change in color 1968 from white to orange lenses.

After some search I found out that this font "News Gothic" is very close, if not spot on (nevermind the italics). I would use News Gothic Bold for Safeguard Solid Tempered and News Gothic or News Gothic Demi for Safety Glass and the numbers.

Dan, I should have been more clear in my post above. Ulf wanted a sample of the typography and this is was what I found. The logotyp is wrong, the sequence number is as well. But to my well trainded eye the font is the same as well as the pentastar.

Ulf Just checking the updates. You need to take car to ODF (Orsa Drag Fest) next year and drive on the strip. It would cool to see how fast an old new DartCharger would go and compare it to the factory specs.
