    Small Upper ball joint adaptors

So I am considering using the upper ball joint adaptors to disc brake swap a 63 valiant for street use. The adaptors that allow you to use the original smaller ball joints with the disc brake knuckles which typically use a larger ball joint. What are your thoughts, are the adaptors a good...

    K-FRAME STITCH WELDING......THOUGHTS?

Yup, even i am finish welding and cleaning up the factory welds on my slant six K frame that will have a slant on it. The factory did not take much time on any of these cars because they were trying to get paid for them as quick as possible and as long as no one complained over the years then...

    Torsion Bars

Overkill..... your going to find the front end so stiff that its not going to be a comfortable road car. If you intend to drive it, it all depends what you want to use the car for. Fresh Replacement stock spec or slightly thicker. Assuming you want a firm highway car that feels new again.

    Power steering

I'm thinking of running a power steering set up. I have never had an A body with power steering and I think people exaggerate when describing driving with manual steering. I have a lot of power steering parts laying around so I'm thinking about the potential in the pile.

    Think I'm screwed

You have more issues than floorboards. Floors are one thing but you have structural damage that if not fixed right could be the difference between life and death. Floor sections can be riveted or bolted in, glued in, whatever but that torsion bar cross member needs to be done right or not...

    Frame Connectors - install question

    FSM should have frame measurements

    Frame Connectors - install question

I would think IF the factory would have put connectors, they wouldn't have done it on assembled cars, but rather when the floor sections were being welded together in the very beginning.

    Frame Connectors - install question

I think a wagon body by nature is more rigid than a 2 door hardtop. When you consider where the seat is mounted there is no frame section under it, so a driver's fat *** bouncing down the road is putting all the weight on the floor pan to be transferred to the rockers. There is no support...

    Frame Connectors - install question

Yea, now you guys got me thinking and I'm prolly going to lose sleep because I'm Arguing with myself how I'm going to do the next car. This thread is very timely, because I'm about to do connectors on my valiant wagon.

    Frame Connectors - install question

Dang, when I did the connectors on my 72 dart about 10 years ago, I put Jack stands under the frame and welded in the connectors because I didn't know you are supposed to load the suspension. (Pre- fabo days) I must have got lucky because the doors operated fine then and they do now too...

Know nothing about suspension and steering, should I attempt?

So easy a girl can do it. As mentioned, the lowers can be challenging and give you a good workout. Gotta be careful to not bend the upper control arms if you put a huge cheater bar on the upper ball joint (might want to verify someone didn't previously put a tack weld on it)

    Changing rear end bolt pattern.

They have wheel adaptors to from SBP TO BBP So does anyone know if adaptors exist that go from BBP to SBP??
  22. Princess Valiant

    Changing rear end bolt pattern.

I have a few 7.25s laying around but lack of sure grip units and highway gears rule them out. An 8.75 is too expensive and over kill for this car.

    Changing rear end bolt pattern.

Is there a way to change a rear axle bolt pattern from big bolt 5 on 4.5 to 5 on 4 small bolt pattern. I have either a Ford 8.8 or Chrysler 8.25 and I am running it in a valiant wagon with drums on the front so I want all the wheels to match the small bolt pattern. I am NOT changing the car...
