anyone know of a source for rebuild or re seal part for a manual steering box? I google searched and all I found were the rebuild and reseal kits for power steering boxes.

Overkill..... your going to find the front end so stiff that its not going to be a comfortable road car. If you intend to drive it, it all depends what you want to use the car for. Fresh Replacement stock spec or slightly thicker. Assuming you want a firm highway car that feels new again.

I'm thinking of running a power steering set up. I have never had an A body with power steering and I think people exaggerate when describing driving with manual steering. I have a lot of power steering parts laying around so I'm thinking about the potential in the pile.

You have more issues than floorboards. Floors are one thing but you have structural damage that if not fixed right could be the difference between life and death. Floor sections can be riveted or bolted in, glued in, whatever but that torsion bar cross member needs to be done right or not...

If the 73 swinger is clean then buy that car and build it.

I would think IF the factory would have put connectors, they wouldn't have done it on assembled cars, but rather when the floor sections were being welded together in the very beginning.

I think a wagon body by nature is more rigid than a 2 door hardtop. When you consider where the seat is mounted there is no frame section under it, so a driver's fat *** bouncing down the road is putting all the weight on the floor pan to be transferred to the rockers. There is no support...

Dang, when I did the connectors on my 72 dart about 10 years ago, I put Jack stands under the frame and welded in the connectors because I didn't know you are supposed to load the suspension. (Pre- fabo days) I must have got lucky because the doors operated fine then and they do now too...

So easy a girl can do it. As mentioned, the lowers can be challenging and give you a good workout. Gotta be careful to not bend the upper control arms if you put a huge cheater bar on the upper ball joint (might want to verify someone didn't previously put a tack weld on it)

Steering column bolt The steering column mounts at 3 points under the dash frame. The two closer to the driver are nuts with that same washer, and the 3rd point is that bolt and washer. They are very specific to the steering column
