    dash lights not working

OK wanted to update this thread once the LED's arrived. I have to say they did the trick! The cluster is now double the brightness it was with new 194 bulbs in it. It does have the slightest blue tint to it but I feel that's to be expected since they pass through the blue cups in the factory...

Yep had the wife turn off the garage lights at testing times. For now I'll add the ground strap to the firewall and wait for LED's to come. Thanks Ron

    dash lights not working

Ok since last post I've done a few more things but first I want to address some other comments or observations. I have no charging problems what so ever, no dimming or blinking headlights with signal use. No bouncing amp meter to report. All gauges work properly. This car is a 4 speed without...

    dash lights not working

The radio has about 11.60V and so does the two orange wires (one at each circuit board). That was with car off parking lights on. So I pulled everything out yesterday and cleaned all board connections and used dialectical grease where applicable. Found the pin on the driver side board loose and...

    dash lights not working

1971 Rallye dash: I have dim dash lights and posted about it before in other threads. I went about hooking a ground wire off the headlight switch and the right side board but still the same issue. All new 194 bulbs and even new sockets. My question is where EXACTLY do I need to attach an...

    Wire Colors at Headlight Switch

Your explanation is clear as day!! But is there supposed to be a light green wire on the bare terminal I have at the headlight switch?? ***Also I forgot when I was testing last week at the headlight terminals I have power on the Violet with low beam and then when I hit hi Beam it goes to the...

    Wire Colors at Headlight Switch

I forwarded the wire diagrams from this site that Abody Joe provided to my friend and my buddy sent me the pages I needed. I checked everything on the bulkhead also. When you have the low beams on one wire has power and then when you hit the high beams the other has power but not both.

    Wire Colors at Headlight Switch

My 71 Demon has no Brights, when you hit the dimmer the headlights go out. Headlights replaced Headlight switch replaced Dimmer switch replaced Traced cleaned re wrapped harnesses. I noticed after looking at a 71 wire diagram that I don't have the Light Green wire at my headlight switch. The...

    Dim lights in dash

Spent more time on it today but nothing better to report. I was using a 1970 manual for a Valiant and it said that at the headlight switch the pink and red wire should be together but my car just had the pink wire at the headlight switch. Is the wiring going to the headlight switch different in...

    1. OK so limiter in Gas Gage so that mystery solved. (Gas gauge works and is accurate, temp. gauge good and accurate, oil good and accurate and amps good and accurate). 2. Yes front and rear lamps blink but I feel my left side (the side that the inside indicator is dead) front bulb looks...

    Dim lights in dash

I read through this post and tried some of the fixes with my car. 1971 Demon Rallye Dash. I have a couple of problems . 1. Had no dash lights but found the 3 prong connector on left board off and that brought light to the Speedo. 2. Then found the orange wire in the round plug on the right...
