    what's a original 7 1/4 duster rear end worth

I had a 7.25 from my old '67 Valiant I gave away to some hippy off Craigslist who had a blow up rear up in his hoopty. He was stoked.

When is a Car "Level" - Home Front End Alignment

Well I wasn't expecting this kind of response! Many thanks for those of you who commented. I need to get it in the ballpark after a total front end rebuild. Once its close I can get to a more optimal place to do the work perfectly. This isn't my first home alignment I've done, I just usually...

When is a Car "Level" - Home Front End Alignment

This is probably a stupid question but I wanna know when a Mopar is considered "level". Can I just go off the rocker? IE; if it is level on the rockers then is the car is considered level? Again; Seems like a stupid question but I'm doing a home front end alignment in less than perfect...

WTF now... strut rod too long on one side?

I was so at my wits end last night, tired of every step having a complication or snafu. I just want to drive the thing again! I don't see anything obviously bent or broken but people have definitely been into the front suspension before. I've found replacement bushings and random suspension...

WTF now... strut rod too long on one side?

So I was putting my front end back together after replacing all the bushings and steering box.... other than the typical spinning LCA pins with the poly bushings it all went back together pretty okay.... except the passenger side control arm is pushed back on the pin. Driver side is okily...

    Odd Power Steering Pump?

Sorry, it’s just the gear box. I’m trying to fix the stupid steering on the damn car and it feels like I’ve been chasing my tail ever since I got it... ugh!!!

    Odd Power Steering Pump?

So I ordered a Cardone 276542 off RockAuto, supposedly supposed to fit a ‘74 along with a ton of other Mopar vehicles. It does NOT look like any Mopar box I've ever seen. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this style box? I'm worried if it even fits an A-body! Any Mopar people have...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

Oh I get it, this is not my first Mopar I've made to handle, just never done the fast ratio arms on an A-body. :D I already installed the 1.03 T-bars and the 1.25 front bar, have Bilsteins, a fat grip steering wheel and a rear sway bar to go on soon. I'll fab up some sub-frame connectors and...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

The arm is listed as fitting B and E bodies as well. They point down '68-72. It is a generic fast ratio arm that fits all small sector shafts. This stuff would be a direct bolt-in in my '70 Challenger. It is erroneously listed as fitting the '68-'72 A body. While it would bolt on to use...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

I'm strongly considering one of their boxes because if the prices on the webpage are correct its only about $225 more the large sector fast ratio arm. I could get the small sector I need plus there's peace of mind in knowing the steering box is good for a few more miles. Were any other...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

The studs on the arms I have both point down, both the one on/off the car and Proforged 103-10031. I think they're a generic B/E Body fitment and would technically fit the 73+ a-bodies if the steering sector was smaller. You could not install the Proforged 103-10031 so the stud pointed up...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

After I got over my initial annoyance at the steering arm I powered on and yanked old the old torsion bars and slammed in the 1.03" ones. That was much more straight forward thankfully!! :D

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

Yeah, I hear you, but I love a car that steers and handles well. I was thinking this was gonna be an easy install but you know how cars are. These are the Proforged fast ratio arms but the pitman is the earlier small hole as I just found out.

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

Alright, thanks guys! It's a '74 with power steering so I should have know it'd be the larger sector. Learned something new. :BangHead: I found this, I don't know why I don't do more research myself sometimes. Steering Box Info Anyone make a large sector fast ratio steering arm? I would...

    Gah!! Old cars!! (steering Qs)

Stupid old cars! So the idler was trashed on my Dart I just bought so I figured now would be a great time to upgrade to the fast ratio arms. I got the new idler installed and fitted, had to clearance the exhaust pipe a bit but no biggie with a few swift whacks with the 5 lb Motivator. Try...

    Popping noise after suspension rebuild

I don't trust most other people to work on my cars. I just bought my own alignment stuff last week. I have borrowed a buddy's stuff twice before so it was time for me to buy it for myself. Speedway Motors has a good selection, their economy kit was just under $100 and I made my own turn...

    Proforged Steering Arms?

I searched a few different ways and was surprised I couldn't find anything about them... The idler arm and power steering seal needs replacing on the Special Sauce Dart and was considering these arms. Who's used them? Any feedback?

    Rear suspension setups

I used slapper bars on my 440 4 spd '70 Challenger, what night and day difference in wheel hop and spin. Like JBC426 said they need to be properly set up so they function correctly.

Like the title states, were all 8 1/4" rears large bolt pattern?

    shock recommendations

My Valiant has Bilsteins and absolutely love them, especially with the large torsion bars up front. On my 1970 Challenger 440 4 speed street bruiser (13.9@101mph) I have high quality Gabriel parts store replacements and the ride is nice and they work good. I have used KYB shocks in the...

Are these original MoParts or not?

I have a set of those that look nearly identical that are for a 1955-1957 Chevy. They are aftermarket. I've seen them for 60's Ford Mustangs and Chevy Camaros/Novas.

    The great debate

The MORON who had my Challenger before me used them and they f&#%^ing destroyed the upper shock crossmember and dented the floorpan above it when the shocks pushed into it. Use them if you want. I wouldn't. I'd replace the springs.

    LCA without Swaybar tab...

I have an Addco swaybar coming from a member on here for my '67 Valiant so I'll be whipping up another set of the ones like I doodled up above. I can take pictures of what I make and how they look after I weld them on. Thank you, learned something new today! :D
  28. RabidScott

    LCA without Swaybar tab...

No, there's a couple different ones. The tabs on 1967-1972 and 1973-1976 are in different locations. Not sure about the earlier A-bodies.

    LCA without Swaybar tab...

This a quick and dirty drawing on what I usually make for cars without swaybar tabs. Cheap and effective.

    LCA without Swaybar tab...

Nope, it's just a cheap piece L bracket with holes drilled in it that has been zinc plated. The ones that came with my last Addco swaybar didn't even match each other or have 90 degree cuts! :sad3:
