Finally got my new wheels and tires! (pics)

Very nice look! Modern / retro. I bet it handles nicely as well. Whole car looks sweet.

    That modern look....

Why not run 18 " front and rear. Then you can run slightly larger ratio or width rear tire and keep the typical look of bit more sidewall on rear. Personally if I were building a car for road touring action and were purchasing new tires / new or used rims, I'd run same size front and rear so I...

    Wheel spacers 1 - 1.5" questions

Well, the only person I know with a lathe is 90 years old and his lathe is also 90 years old and I don't know him that well. Dangit. I gotta get to know more people.

    Wheel spacers 1 - 1.5" questions

What I am trying to do is avoid those spacers that have the studs built in and just run studs with spacers.

    Wheel spacers 1 - 1.5" questions

I have scored a set of sweet cobra wheels with F1 tires but the rear will require 1 to 1.5" of wheel spacers (have not measured, just estimating based on numbers). I will be buying friggin 3" arp studs and some-body's wheel spacers. Do I need hub centric wheel spacers? Can the wheels just be...

    That modern look....

It is excellent. If I can get 18" x9 or 20" x9 tuff *** looking rims and tires under my duster with the right backspacing, I will very much be doing just that.

    Pro touring wheels

I would put 20 on front and back rather than 20 rear / 18 front. All modern cars that have 18" or 20 " wheels have the same size rim front and back and usually the same size tire too.

    Maxxis MA-S1-Marauder Tires?

Looking at these Marauder tires because they have them in 255/60R15 and appear to be potentially more stiff than the BFGs or Cobras. Anyone have experience with these? Supposed to have heavier duty for SUVs so I figure they would be stiffer sidewalls...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

Anyone have a diagram pointing to where the measurements are taken? Drum to drum? Is that the flat front face of the drum where the back side of the wheel interfaces? I am dealing with a narrowed C body rear end and axles that is quite nicely done but appears to be barely wider than normal A...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

No 67 :) , I was quoting Sedanman about his choice for mustang wheels on his post 618. I have not mounted the my wheels but will be experimenting with them this summer before buying any more rims. If I can get by with the 17" I will for now to save money. I have a narrowed C body rear end so its...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

I have an identical set now, of those. If you need specs, lemme know. I believe they are forged aluminum mustang GT wheels. I saw it on factory spec info.

that's outstanding zhandful really inspirational for us trying to get the right wheels. do you have any mods to the rear like mini tub / relocated springs? thanks 72 for the info. Reckon I will shoot for about 26" tall probably 275/40R18 tire front and rear. I see some rims claim +24 on a 9"...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

So, will 5.9" back space be to little on a 18x9" rim, front of 74 duster w 11.75" factory type brake setup?? Concerned about outer wheel rub on top and sides of fender. Probably running either a 26 or 27" tall tire on front. Much appreciated

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

I think an 11" rim is physically 12" wide. The bead is 11" While your rims are on your car you can just measure off your existing rims (get your rim actual specs) to get your capable additional space. Here is a good program - website for tires and rims estimations...

wracks71, very great. what did you have to do to the wheels? What rear end, front hub assy (looks aftermarket) and also, any spacers?? Thank you.

what is the tire and rim combo on this dart?

http://www.uswheel.com/collections/custom-steel similar to the pic. Not exactly identical.

what is the tire and rim combo on this dart?

Where's the riggin wheels at? I am starting to think they are so top secret that they only exist on a virtual server in hyperspace - circa 1987! Also, I am guessing it is BFG 275-75-15 all-terrains with 15x10" steel crager white spoke wheels and crager center caps with chrome lug nuts. Bitchen.

what is the tire and rim combo on this dart?

So if a person were looking at them, they could not see them. Only after a photochromic picture has been developed from a chemical exposure type film, can you see the actual rims. Otherwise it is just tire floating around a rotor?

    Tire conundrum

Leaf springs: There are a few people just adding leafs to their existing main leaf from a dakota. I would get a few leafs off a 4x4 . There are threads on this site about it. If you have a jack a few C clamps and a bit of time you can just do your self up some springs for cheap and adjust...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

Does anybody know if the American Muscle mustang wheels have a big enough opening or center register to clear mopar front hub? I already have read that factory mustang wheels do not. Thank you.

    Wheel and Tire help

How to get overspray off tires

Take rim off car, sand blast the rim to bare metal front and back and during that process, lightly do the tire at the same time. Then mask off the tire to rim nicely so paint does not get on the tire, wipe a judicious amount of lacquer thinner on the rim to degrease it and paint the rims up...

Updated due to epic fail..Wheel Opinions please... Big wheel haters should stay away

First, it is the car. It just sucks. What is that? Is it like a huyandi ninja or something? I suppose they are competitive with that mess? Maybe in SF in a parking space finding competition. Second, they are running 225s on a rim that is 1" too wide for the tire making the tire look all blown...

Updated due to epic fail..Wheel Opinions please... Big wheel haters should stay away

Screw all that custom stuff man. There are so many wheels for 200 or less each. I like your first choice and several others too. I agree that weight is important. So is not breaking under high cornering stress. Big wheels are friggin great. Wide tires are great! Your tire will not squish and...

    Sidewall run-out on a 275-40-18?

I have an additional, sort of related question, maybe someone can lend some info. Running green bearings, are they safe for hard cornering? What is the side flex or run-out on those bearings during cornering? Thanks .
