    24Wx32L Garage Build

It would be a big bonus if you could find a way to get the height up to 10'. Can you reduce the size of the roof overhang by enough to make that happen? You should be able to get a 4 post hoist in there anyway but you'll be keeping an eye on the ceiling as the car goes up.

    My car shelter is sick

The metal roof ones work well and can hold a good amount of snow which is one of the problems with the canvas top ones, the tubing crushes and the top can tear as well. Unfortunately the best solutions are usually the most expensive but worth it in the long run, even cheap temp solutions add up...

    Shop Dog (Or Pet) Pictures

Still working on fetching the paper Joe, they do come when I call them so we're getting there :D This is Keith, must have gone through a fanbelt had some big gouges, missing half a tail and was limping. I named him Keith after Keith Richards because he looked like **** :evil4:

Just getting started with my 7 year plan

I like the way you think, start with a nice big shop, THEN build a house, perfect

    looking for a mig welder

It depends on what you need it for. I have a Lincoln SP125 which is a very good little 110 welder. I do full restos but that is 99% sheet metal, you don't need anything bigger than this unit for that purpose. If you weld mostly thick plate stuff the 220 is the ticket. My son welds frames mostly...

Can a garage be too big?

I don't think so, he literally had about 1000 cars in 3 or 4 sites so each building was huge. He had cars from every era, it was amazing

Who has em?? Lifts in the garage

I'm gearing up to build another shop and would love to have a 4 post drive on lift. I have some really heavy vehicles and would feel safer under one of those. I wouldn't mind one of these simple heavy duty kwiklifts either, drive on, jack up the back and you have plenty of room under it to roll...

Can a garage be too big?

Oh hell no. I watched a show many years ago, some old rich guy in Washington State, had more cars than you could ever imagine. The grandson was doing the tour for the show and said his grandmother describes the house as your average 5 bedroom, 400 car garage :toothy7: He also had several...

    Tools

Now that they opened a KMS tools in town I don't go to Can Tire nearly as often. I'm like a kid in a candy store at KMS. Since they opened I bought an English wheel, bead roller, numerous T dollies, the last few air tools that I didn't have, etc. I'm like a drug addict when I get in there, no...

    paint booth

Yup, if you're iso sensitive even one minimal exposure can mess you up, I use a fresh air system, those cartridge masks don't filter out all the iso's. Here's my booth, still need some work but good enough for now

    Homemade paint booths

Pry all you want :-D I don't think I have all that much into it, all the outside walls were already done as well as the overhead lighting. I built interior walls and built the lights into the corners, lights are T8's and cost just under $500, probably another $500 or so for the 2x4's...

    Homemade paint booths

I used 2x2's with plastic on them for a long time, got tired of replacing the plastic all the time and built a permanent set up with decent lighting. Still working on it, it isn't perfect, garage door ttrack is in the way of making the one side full length but it's a lot better than it was :-D

UPS came early today. Cheap spray guns.

Yeah that's about right, makes me ill when I think about it #-o The bigger tipped ones were somewhat cheaper but the 1.3 RP and the Iwata were all of that. Nice tip sizes you got by the way, 1.4 for BC/CC or SS and the 1.8 for your primers, perfect :-D

UPS came early today. Cheap spray guns.

Good Lord that's cheap  I have 3 Sata RP's (1.3, 1.6, 2.5) and an Iwata LPH400 with orange and silver caps, don't ask what that all cost :sad1:

    My New Garage

Wow, that is sweet but it is just WAY to clean in there, time to get disorganized and spread some crap around, if I was closer I'd help, I'm a master of disaster :-D Ah, that's better :toothy10:

    Let's see your garage!

Just keep an eye on it if you get a lot of snow, my son had one completely cave in on one of his cars from the weight of the snow :angry7: Mind you, our snow is probably a lot wetter and hence heavier than what you would get down there.

    Garage Workbench Dimensions

Looks like my place, crap everywhere :-D I too have a plan, just as soon as I finish this project I'm getting organized, I've been saying that for 20 years or so but this time I mean it :sign10:

    Garage Workbench Dimensions

I was thinking about you rubbing shoulders with the big wigs there Mike and thinking you wouldn't be liking that much, I hate having to be on my best behaviour :-D Fortunately I'm somewhat of a Jackass so I don't really get caught up with the whole, who's who in the zoo thing :-D Nice to hear...

    Garage Workbench Dimensions

Just got home from work and measured, mine is 34", I'm not tall (5' 8") but I think tall so I like it a little higher than most :-D Multi levels is a great idea, for the higher level, bend your arm 90 degrees at the elbow so that your forearm is parallel to the ground, this will be the...

    Garage Workbench Dimensions

It depends on what you're going to work on and how tall you are, if you're tall build the bench higher so your back doesn't ache. I used to do a lot of wood working so a deeper bench was needed. Start in on that 12ver, about half way through you should obtain clarity and it'll just get easier...
