Anyone have interference with TTI 1 5/8 Step Headers & Borgeson Power Steering

Thank you for the responses. I will mock up the headers and make any tweaks before sending them to get coated.

Anyone have interference with TTI 1 5/8 Step Headers & Borgeson Power Steering

I was wondering if anyone had interference with TTI 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" step headers hitting the Borgeson power steering box. I was speaking to TTI the other day and they said while the Borgeson box is smaller, the design of the top of the box is different and can interfere with the front tubes...

    Tubular Automotive Headers

The passenger side was not as low as the drivers side in my 70 Dart. The headers were purchased in 1993 and pictures are from the last 1990's so perhaps they have changed the design since. For me the drivers side was very close going up the trailer. Touched a couple of times. Great race car...

    tti header fitment

Yes sir. 1970 small block Dart. One of the tie rod sleeve nuts hit one of the tubes of my 1 7/8" Tubular Technologies pipes. Cut a hole in the pipe. I was able to reorient them just enough to stop the rubbing and use JB Weld to seal the hole.

    Tubular Automotive Headers

For my application, which was bracket racing only, I used a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve for the rear line and ran a new line to the back bypassing the factory proportioning block. The new line however ran along the same basic route as the stock line to the rear end. These are the...

    Tubular Automotive Headers

Tubular Automotive are a very nice header. Well made and easy to install. Easiest headers I have ever installed. I did not have to lift the engine or remove torsion bars or steering linkage. Just need to know the right order and angle to put them on each side. I ran the 1 7/8' version with...

    TTI headers

If you do go with the bigger headers, Tubular Automotive are a very nice header. Well made and easy to install. They are designed for the strip and do not have a collector flange and are a multi-piece design on each side. A collector flange can be welded on for exhaust hookup. Easiest...

    Header Bolts for a 340

The end studs holes are drilled into the head coolant passages. If the studs come out and the coolant has not been drained below that level it will come out. If you remove these studs use Teflon tape or another sealant to prevent leaks on the end bolt holes on both heads. Some aftermarket...

    Dual Exhaust Conversion

If you are OK with the exhaust not coming out the back, it is easy to buy a kit at Jegs or Summit that has the dual exhaust and mufflers that turn down at the differential. Easy for anmuffler shop to do as well. Add the down pipes from the stock manifolds and if you like a cross over pipe and...

    What do these fit?

Check to see if there are any numbers/letters stamped on the inside or outside of the header flanges. That might provide a clue.

    Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers..

Nice. I wasconsidering the same muffler swap. How much seat of the pants difference was there if any? Could you tell? How much louder are they inside and outside the car?

    tti headers

For that level of power 1 7/8 may be a bit big. I would suggest the stepped TTI 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 if you select TTI. They support your power level and The smaller size are easier to first. Doug's very nice also.

TTI 2.5 Exhaust with Dana 60

Anyone try to install TTi's 2.5 exhaust with a stock A body width Dana 60 and the stock gas tank? Might start to get tight back there with the TTI kit.

TTI Shorty Headers For Small Block - Anyone Try Them Yet?

Good feedback thank you. Did you try the TTI 2.5" adapter pipes from TTI for the shorties or did you make your own? I plan to run the big block torsion bars 0.89 vs. the stock V8 0.87 bars so not much of a difference.

TTI Shorty Headers For Small Block - Anyone Try Them Yet?

Thanks for the feedback. I am debating the Doungs and TTI long tube headers as well but for my install and future plans with the car the shorty's will offer an advantage for me. The TTI shorty's outlet are angled back resulting in less of an abrupt bend (but still a good tight bend) at the...

TTI Shorty Headers For Small Block - Anyone Try Them Yet?

TTI Shorty Headers For Small Block - Anyone Try Them Yet?

Curious to see if anyone has tried these shorty headers yet, how the install went, ... Based on mock ups I have seen they look like they will connect well to the TTI exhaust system used for stock manifolds and will clear components well. I know I would lose some power with this design but...

    Doug's headers question

I have not installed anything yet and am just sifting through all the posts on Doug's and TTI and am looking for the fine points of installation people have had especially with power steering, RPM heads and 4 speed. Mounts will be new Poly locks or an new set of original biscuit mounts I have...

Help me identify Direct Connection headers

I had a set like that in the early 1980's. They were made by a company called JR. 1 7/8 tube. I welded a collector flange on them and ran them on the street.

    Headers for Aftermarket Heads

Thanks for the reply's. Anyone ever put the W7 to W9 series heads into an a-body? What did you do for headers?

    Headers for Aftermarket Heads

Thanks. Yes I saw they had both. Back in the 90's they did not seem to list a different header for W5. My old MP catelog only lists W2 headers yet both the W2 and W5 heads were being sold. I was hoping to pair a set of W2 headers to a set of W5 heads and was wondering if others had done...

    Headers for Aftermarket Heads

I have a few questions on headers for W2, W5 and W7 heads Are headers for W2 and W5 the same? An old Mopar Performance catelog I have made no reference to the W5 headers. The TTI site lists different part numbers. What about the W7 to W9 heads. Can you buy headers for these in an A body...

Manifold heat riser - keep or remove?

Has anyone removed the heat riser from their stock 340 manifolds? Can this be done in a way that it could be put back on later if required? How did you clock the holes in the manifold afterward? Any performance gain in doing so to make it worth while? Thanks

Extrude hone exhaust manifolds or not

Has anyone extrude honed their stock 340 manifolds for more performance? Is there performance to be gained here and is it worth the effort? I am building a mainly stock 340 with some mild head work and performance exhaust from the stock manifolds. I do not want to run headers. Any literature...

    Stainless Exhaust for A Body

Can anyone identify this exhaust casting #

Thanks for the responses. The Mymopar.com does not list this part number for the 340 and this is why I asked the question.
