    1968 Dart radio bracket question

I used a sheet metal screw. It was pretty small, but I don't remember what size. If you have the under dash AC vents it'll be harder to get the screw in than if you don't. Without AC you can just reach under the dash with a screwdriver.

    1968 Dart radio bracket question

Roger Ram Rod has it right. His just needs to be fastened to the dash frame. Here's a couple pictures that may be helpful. You can track down a bracket or make something that does the same job. There are at least three brackets for sale on Ebay now, or post a wanted ad on the forum and you...

    1969 Dart Front Speaker Dimensions

The Retrosound speaker isn't anything special as far as sound quality, but it does have a couple features that are helpful. It can be wired to be an 8 ohm speaker to work with the old radios. Doing this requires losing the stereo feature it has if wired as twin 4 ohm speakers. If you're...

    1969 Dart Front Speaker Dimensions

Speaker is a 4" x 10". It mounts to a bracket, which in turn mounts to the underside of the dash with bolts whose heads are covered by the defrost vents. Which dimensions do you need? Hole to hole on the tabs on the ends? Or the holes on the speaker that mount to the bracket? Not my...

    Dash knobs 70 Duster

The knobs probably matched when your car was new. Once you get the part numbers, you can search to see which is correct. Then you can scrounge for matching parts. Lots can be found here and on Ebay. Or just be happy everything works. Your car, your choice.

    1971 Demon Rallye Dash schematic

It's a good idea to run an auxiliary ground wire from one of the screws to a chassis ground. Putting a bayonet connector on the wire helps if you need to pull the cluster out.

    1971 Demon Rallye Dash schematic

Blue is the High Beam indicator. The corresponding hole on the other side of the center pod is the brake warning light. I don't believe there's an oil pressure light on Rally Dashes. Maybe some years, but not '68.

Anybody receive seat covers from Legendary or Classic Industries lately?

Newark, NY is a small town with no extra housing for "asylum seekers." It's also not a sanctuary city or in a sanctuary county. There's no welcome mat out. I also wonder if Legendary doesn't want to invest a lot of time and money in employees that will bolt as soon as a better free stuff...

Anybody receive seat covers from Legendary or Classic Industries lately?

That's it in a nutshell. The shutdown stopped production, but didn't stop orders from coming in. The workforce only partially returned. It's in a rural area of the rust belt. The skilled labor just isn't there. Most of their previous workforce acquired their skills on the job over time...

Replacing Instrument Cluster bulbs with LEDs - Illumination Detail Question - 67 Barracuda

I'd been thinking about the LEDs. Then in the space of a week I saw a nice '66 or '67 Olds 442 with a slope nosed Volvo smashed under its rear end. Then I saw a early Mustang on a flatbed tow truck with its rear end smashed. Drivers are so used to seeing a wall of red when a newer car brakes...

Replacing Instrument Cluster bulbs with LEDs - Illumination Detail Question - 67 Barracuda

Have you checked the polarity? You might need to switch the leads around in the lamp socket. I got LEDtronics 1157s ten years ago. They're fine. I plugged them in and they worked. You might have issues with flashers needing resistance in the circuit to work properly. I didn't, but I left my...

    Sizes of Thumb Wheel Radios

The pushbuttons can be swapped for chrome if you want. You can find good used ones, and I believe they are or have been repopped. The big chrome mounting bezel can be removed. There are two big, beveled bolts which appear to be missing on your radio. Also, there a few small bolts, which are...

    Sizes of Thumb Wheel Radios

You're welcome. :) The bezel pictured in your last post is the main instrument panel bezel. The instrument cluster fastens to the back of it, and then it is screwed to the dash. It just lays over the radio. The radio doesn't fasten to it. The bezel has the holes for access to the dial...

    Sizes of Thumb Wheel Radios

Here's some pictures from a '68 Barracuda. I believe they are different than Darts and use a different bezel on the front. Instrument panel bezel is removed. The radio mounts from behind the dash. The opening in the dash only needs to be big enough for the wheels and dial to fit through...

    Carpet install questions

In 1968 & '69 that area was carpeted as part of the extra cost interior decor package. The description of the decor package for 1967 doesn't mention it, so maybe not available. Maybe a 1967 expert could weigh in and enlighten us.

Anybody receive seat covers from Legendary or Classic Industries lately?

Legendary wants Classic to sell lots of their products, so they price theirs higher than Classic to not undercut them on price. This keeps Classic happy, and Legendary still gets the sales while dealing with one large customer instead of hundreds of small ones.

Anybody receive seat covers from Legendary or Classic Industries lately?

Every time I've been past Legendary's facilities since the shutdown they've had a big help wanted sign out front. Specifically, it says they're looking for sewing machine operators. Ron has been with Legendary since he was the only employee.

    Trying to Identify Rally Cluster

Good catch. I think all of the Barracudas in question had the flasher switch located above the headlight switch. Did they go to the steering column for 1970? I don't remember, I haven't owned a '70s Mopar in more than 20 years.

    Trying to Identify Rally Cluster

The speedometer number orientation and straight grain on the woodgrain make it 1969 or later. Or very late 1968 according to some. Coupled with knobs instead of thumbwheel radio controls, it makes it 1971 or later. I'm not sure of the last year of the A-Body Rallye dash.
