    ‘68 Master Cylinder question

The top one is from seller Steve Kirschenbaum. I've bought a few things from him. He and his brother Al have been neck deep in Mopars since the old days. Al worked at a Long Island Dodge dealership. He used to prep magazine cars before the writers tested them. Then he was an editor at Motor...

Which master cylinder bore size to use for power disc Kelsey/Hayes

Here's a post @slantsixdan made on rear wheel lockup and wheel cylinder bore size. 8.25" rear worth buying? - Page 2 - Slant Six Forum

    Wheel fitment

Agreed. It sounds like a custom install. OP, did you use a kit from a certain supplier? But to answer your question, a little grinding can be done. But I wouldn't take off very much material.

    4 piston calipers question

The pistons are shown as the same part number as 1967 Mustangs. As @junkyardhero said the Mustang used more than one size, but the '67 crosses to fit all of our K-H calipers. If you trust the parts book, sooner or later you'll get bitten. So verify the fit. The pistons in the link should...

I have front disc brake issue, front spindle mounting bolt hitting sway bar mount on MBM disc brake kit? Need your help

Get a shorter bolt and a thinner nut. Clean very well. Use Loctite. Torque to spec plus a bit more for good measure. Go beat on it.

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

Here's a set of 1972 and earlier LCAs positioned to illustrate the position of the sway bar tabs. Straight edge against outer part of the tab. In the same position, notice how the LCAs aren't parallel, which illustrates the position of the tab. When they are sort of parallel, note how the...

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

If I were going to tap the spindles, I'd find some old stock Moog or TRW ball joints and use those. I'd do that anyway rather than use the likely Chinese ball joints included in the kit. Grease them every oil change with a quality EP grease, and they'll last. I've purchased from these folks...

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

Here's the right side of my Kelsey-Hayes disc brake '68 Barracuda. The wheel is turned all the way to the right so I could take the picture without moving the car and jacking it. Because of this, the sway bar tab is furthest away from the bolt. But you can clearly see the bolt goes from the...

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

I don't know what the kit is, but likely it's based on the '73-up OEM brakes. The OP's control arms are the '72 and earlier type with the sway bar tabs closer to the end. If he had the later control arms, sway bar and K-frame, there wouldn't be an interference issue with the bolt and nut. If...

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

Your sway bar tabs on your later lower control arm are inverted and located on the other side of the strut rod attachment point. That clears the knuckle to ball joint bolts.

Pirate Jacks front disc kit question

That may cause the nut and bolt to contact the rotor. He needs a shorter bolt and thinner nut.

    Performance oriented brake pad options

As far as I know, Wilwood's bolt on calipers are only for Ford K-H brakes systems. The calipers are similar, but not interchangeable with the K-H calipers used on our A-Bodies. The pads are the same, though.

Yup. I'm pretty sure we can thank Ford for selling all those Mustangs with Kelsey-Hayes calipers.

'73 up drum to disc conversion track width change

That's a good observation. In 1973 the parts manuals have different, new numbers for the drum brake steering knuckles. It's very possible the wheels were pushed out in a similar way as the disc brake equipped wheels. Looking at the OP's car, one notices the track difference, front to rear.

Aftermarket brakes for a 70 Dart?

10.95" Front Disc Brake Kit (Stage 1) Mopar 11.75" Front Disc Brake Kit (Stage 2) Everything in the above kits is new, with the possible exception of the caliper castings. They are based on OEM parts. The second kit listed may not clear 14" wheels. You can look for the spindles and caliper...

Aftermarket brakes for a 70 Dart?

When SSBC v1.0 went belly up, they screwed over customers, vendors and employees. Almost everyone who was owed got nothing. Previous customers had nowhere to get proprietary parts like rotors. I just drove by their buildings on Saturday. They're still empty, but have a nice "Available" sign...

Anyone know the bearing/seal part numbers for 68 Cuda 10" front drum hubs?

The diameter of the rotor on the K-H disc equipped cars is very close to 11". I think very recently some parts suppliers started referring to them as 11" as opposed to disc.

Anyone know the bearing/seal part numbers for 68 Cuda 10" front drum hubs?

Any wheel bearing grease will do well. Go to your local big box discount store or parts house and get a 1lb. tub of wheel bearing grease. Or, if you prefer a cartridge, get that. Any brand name will do, and most off brands will be fine, too. It can also say multi-purpose, but should say...

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

If you need them, get them now. Rock Auto let me put 7 in my cart and said that was all that was available (I emptied it , so it's not "holding" any). Summit had seven a couple of weeks ago, and now they are out of stock.

10" x 1.75" SBP rear drums in stock at Summit

$109 is the threshold for free shipping. The drums cost me $131.98 including tax (and shipping). And then I added some smalls to take advantage of the free shipping.

10" x 1.75" SBP rear drums in stock at Summit

With the free shipping and the Rock Auto discount, they were within a couple dollars of each other. Since I got to free shipping, I added four more items. Rock charges shipping for every one of them! Hassle free Summit returns and actually in stock as opposed to drop shipping virtually...

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

At the base, the diameter of the hat is 6.82" There's a ridge that measures 0.1" tall at the base of the hat. Above that ridge, the diameter of the hat is 6.62". The dust boots may clear the ridge, depending on several size and location factors. The rotors look pretty nice. They should...

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

To tell you the truth, I don't remember now. Amazon is painful with their "close enough" and switcheroos. I just now pulled these screenshots. Note the second one says it does and also does not fit a 1969 Barracuda. :BangHead:

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

I'm turning up zero results for 600 2 40002. 600 40002 are now showing two in stock at Rock Auto after showing unavailable this morning. Other places are showing them available, although I believe they are all being shipped from one warehouse. Availability shown by several vendors may not...

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

Sold out on Rock Auto. I don't know if there were only a few available or if there was a buying frenzy. Amazon shows 10 available with more on the way. Hopefully this availability will be a trend and will extend to the matching rear drums.
