    340 exhaust manifolds

I will. That is what I had planned to do was ditch the old headers.

    340 exhaust manifolds

Yes they will. But 340 manifolds are expensive. I will have a pair of 71-72 318 A body manifolds in a short while.

    Custom exhaust any interest?

I’d be in for a set of 3” X pipes for 68 Barracuda with TTI 340 step headers. For a 416. No tail pipes just the header collectors to the mufflers.

    TTI headers

For a 80/20 street/strip car that is a big solid roller. And I don't think 3-3500 is enough convertor. I run. 416/ Indybrock ported heads and the TTI 340 step headers with a Frank Lupo tight 4200 convertor. I run a solid roller though it a much smaller 246/250 571 lift. I really think for the...

Look what the UPS driver delivered to me

Damn it that UPS guy screwed up again! That was suppose to be delivered at my house. I have the TTI 340 step headers on my 68 Barracuda. But i still need the H pipe. Good luck.

    Pro Parts Exhaust

The Herb McCandless or Pro Parts headers are going to be a problem as the collectors are not straight back or level. I would get a good muffler shop to build it for you

    VHT Paint

Well I know when I had a local company jet coat mine I didn’t use manifolds to break it in. I used the headers. And they didn’t discolor.

    VHT Paint

So do you think TTI puts this disclaimer on their headers knowing that most people won’t or can’t run manifolds to break in a new engine. Cause after all it’s not just the manifolds you’ll need what about exhaust pipes. They know most people are not going to do this.

    VHT Paint

Oh I understand TTI position. But A56 says you don’t need to use manifolds to break your cam in. Which I agree. Then JC says true, TTI says to not break in cam with new headers? Am I the only one that sees a contradiction here?

I keep reading the above quote and reply. And I’m still scratching my head?

I forgot to add that bit of info. I did not use manifolds first either when I fired it up. Put the headers on and rolled with it.

    VHT Paint

Many years ago I bought a set of NOS CPPA headers that were plain steel. I took them to a place locally and had them Jet coated. That was 13-14 years ago. Holding up good.

    before the axle turn downs

When I converted my 67 Super Gas Barracuda over to a Ron’s flying toilet and alcohol, the fumes in the car were unbearable. To fix it I added 3 1/2” turn downs and angled then out ever so slightly. Man what a difference. I could actually drive the car.

    72 340 pass side manifold

The 68-70 numbers are left side 2883553 and right side is 2863549. But they go for $ 600.00 a pair now days

    Steering Coupler and Headers

I had the same issue with my 69 Dart 360 and CPPA headers. I used the flaming river replacement coupler.

    pro parts vs fenderwell

Never knew Hooker made a set of Pro Parts style headers. If you use the Pro Parts which was the old Herb McCandless headers, tire clearance is not an issue. Unless your trying to run 17x40 Ground Hogs on the front!
  22. SGBARRACUDA

    pro parts vs fenderwell

I’ve ran both a few times in my lifetime. IMO? It is a no brainer. Pro Parts every time. No tire issues and you don’t have hack the hell out of your inner fender wells. And you can actually work on your engine without getting third degree burns.

    TTI Headers

The 68 Barracuda in my avatar was a pice of cake using the TTI 340 step header. Of course mine had a complete RMS front suspension. I put it on my 2 post lift, slide them right in from th bottom. Had to install a bolt at the header flange to keep them from falling out on my head.

    TTI Header install issues

Thou this doesn’t help your situation. I have found thru pure accident, that with a RMS coil over and front mounted P/S rack that the. TTI’s I installed on my 416 68 Barracuda were an absolute dream to install. Only way I’ll ever put headers on any car in the future.

    Header to steering coupler

I had same problem with a set of CPPA headers in my 69 360 Dart. Buy the flaming river joint. You only have to buy it once and your done.

    440 Headers for 69 Dart/What are these?

$1000.00 for a set of headers now days is not hard to believe.

TTI 1 7/8 Headers hitting oil pan

Anyone can beat the pan or headers to achieve clearance. Drop the pan and do it right. I had a simular problem with a Milodon pan not clearing my power rack and pinion. Read here to see what I did to solve it. RMS in a 68 Barracuda, oil pan problems
