67' to 73'+ Disc Swap Question

I would use the factory pivot bolts. There were some breakage issues with the greaseable ones unless they corrected that problem, you don't need the spindle nut kit unless your missing them. The Rotors,Pads and Camber bolt kit can be had from local parts stores. Yes the lower arms are the same...

    Scary steering shaft/coupler failure!

Yep,that's the one I'm talking about but that earlier coupler may not have had it. I know the 68-up does

    Scary steering shaft/coupler failure!

Yep,the dowl pin hole. It may have been a 68 and up safety fix to your problem. I would drill a hole and put a screw in it and be done with it,just make sure it's not too long...maybe sticking in about 1/4 inch when tightened

    Scary steering shaft/coupler failure!

It's at the top and is designed to keep the shoes from coming out of the coupler.

    Scary steering shaft/coupler failure!

Looks like someone didn't put the safety pin back inside the coupler or it sheared off.

If you leave tension on the t bar adjusting bolt it shouldn't spin. I just use a 1/2 ratchet from below. A little heat will help too

    73 a body k member in my 68 cuda

I prefer the 73-up K frames for the unbreakable motor mounts, cheaper replacement parts and the disc brakes and sway bar. I have two 67 Valiants and both have 73-up k frames in them.

Which steering gearbox is for me?

If it's a factory power box then it is the small diameter shaft. The later ones had a larger shaft. I found it out the hard way.

The factory specs are for bias ply tires and the chart above is for modern radials.

    upper control arms

I use lots of PB Blaster, take the round adjuster washer off and lock washer and put the nut back on flush and a 10lb sledge hammer on a short handle and smack them out from the back. They usually come out pretty easy.

    will rear end fit??

Way too wide. IF you can grab one from a Diplomat you can run mid 90's-up mustang wheels after you swap the perches.

What leaf springs?? Experts please chime in

What part of IL are you in? I run the 863/864 SS springs on my car. I have a set of slightly used Mancini XHD springs that I won't be using but a buddy has first dibs.If he doesn't want them then I will be listing them. I'm in the west burbs of Chicago

Front axles swap 9" drum to 10"

Did you use the offset upper control arm bushings? The stock bias ply alignment specs don't work well with modern radial tires.

Upper rear shock studs for a 69 Cuda

I used a small pipe wrench on them where the shock slides on and use an impact on the nut and they come off pretty easy.
