I wouldn't cut up a nice hood. I bought a VFN fiberglass hood for mine and put a 6 pak scoup in it.

I have only drove it down the block once then it sat for a few months until I fired it up today and found a gas leak at the filter and an oil leak at the relocation fitting that is leaking onto the header.

Glasstek went the extra mile and reinforced the top of the scoop and fixed all of the chips before primering it for no charge too.

Find some FMJ body spindles,get the BJ adapters from DRDiff and get the 73-6 A body disc prop valve and proper brake lines for the disc swap. The whole set up should be around $300-350

I'd leave it alone and enjoy it instead of painting it and worrying about people scratching or denting it.

I have SS springs on my 67 and you can see the difference in axle center line between the two. pic 1 is the front of my wheel opening and pic 2 is the rear with 255/60/15.

They look like factory bearings to me. The green bearings are sealed units. As far as rust, I would scrape off the heavy stuff and sand or wire wheel the rest. I would cover up those bearings first if you plan to reuse them.

3.55 center is in and painted. I picked up the correct alternator for my car. I have to regrease the axle bearings and slide them back in and get the E brake stuff done and start on the charging issue again.

My car is a hodge podge of different cars/years and the rear are 68 b body which uses different E brake stystem than 70 and up. Thanks for the info.

Progress minus the charging issue. I installed the upper door panel trim,installed the plastic sheeting,installed door panels and acc's. I also ripped the rear axle back apart because I wasn't sure if I had greased the bearings or not when I got them from Cass and to install a 3.55 center...
