Brake line flaring tool that actually double flares steel line?

Also, when you make the second flare, don't tighten down on it completely. It'll form the last part of the flare as you tighten the flare nut. Almost leak-proof.

Ratchet Extension. I had no idea this existed

Looks like a good idea. I bought one of these in the early 80's. I don't why it's listed as a serpentine tool, they didn't exist then. I used it for fans and clutches. Blue Point Vintage Serpentine Belt Reversible Ratcheting Tool YA125B | eBay

Walbro carbs made easy (or get that weed wacker started!)

Two stroke tips: -If you prime a two stroke engine, use gas that is mixed with two stroke oil. Otherwise, you could seize it up. -If it doesn't kick on a prime, (and it's not lack of spark) it's got more serious problems. A two stroke needs compression to pop.

The "I didn't know that" dept.........Making a chisel from ball bearing

That's awesome. I wouldn't be able to use that chisel after doing all of that to make it! But I'll say one thing; if I did use it, I'd be so respectful, it would last forever. I worked in an automotive tool and die shop in the 80's and 90's. There was a man there who made absolutely...

    Mr. Heater Gas Valve Problem

It has cycled several times and has worked every time! On Wednesday, I checked connections and looked at the pilot. The connections seemed okay and the pilot "looked" as it has for years. (Falls under; "Don't Assume.") The repair isn't as clear cut as I'd like it to be, but I'll cover what I...

    Mr. Heater Gas Valve Problem

Okay. I'll look into a thermopile. (I've driven some real piles, never knew I was trusting one to heat my garage. ha ha) I did read about the differences, I only called it a couple because the parts list I have calls it a thermocouple. Is it generic, or should I stick with the correct...

    Mr. Heater Gas Valve Problem

The pilot looks the same as it has the whole time I've owned it. I checked connections, and bypassed the thermostat. With the stat bypassed, it still needs a tap to ignite. Maybe a new thermocouple is worth a shot? The exact part is $37 to $45. I saw one for $28. I don't believe that...

    Mr. Heater Gas Valve Problem

Thanks. I can understnd why they're not serviceable. The problem is it needs a "tap" to get it to open. The heater works fine until the next time it needs to start, same problem, a tap gets it going. Thanks. Yes, I posted over there, too. Got a link to a cross reference chart that I'll post...

    Mr. Heater Gas Valve Problem

I have a Model No. MH25NG Item No. F272200 Mr. Heater in my garage. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006L7UZ/?tag=fabo03-20 I installed it about 10 or 12 years ago, and it's been fine until the last coule of years. The gas valve needs a tap on the side for it to operate. This link says it's...

Who Needs a Creeper When One Has This?

That's the same thing that I got from Jeg's, as I mentioned in post #8. One thing I found out is that because they're black (the Jeg's) they get REALLY hot when you use them in the summer sun. I have to slide them back under the car (shade) when I get up. Those red one's would stay cooler.

Who Needs a Creeper When One Has This?

I've never liked creepers. They ALWAYS get stuck in ANY crack! Plus, you lose a couple inches of clearance that you may need. And they always want to roll away when you're trying to pull on a wrench. I used to use carpet scraps. Now I have a couple vinyl covered foam pads that Jeg's sells. Or...

    New garage-floor covering....

This thread reminded me of something from my misspent youth. Years ago, I did a burnout in my garage in my 440 6 pack 69 Dart. (I was only 23, it seemed like the thing to do at the time.) It was a still day and the smoke only had the main door to dissipate. A neighbor came over because he...

    Bubble Balancer Fix

Having them I agree, I turn the screws until the bubble's in the middle, then put the wheel/tire on it. Having them balanced (the light wheels) on a local shop's computer balancer helped a lot. I still feel a little wobble at certain highway speeds. It's funny though, at the track, it runs...

    Bubble Balancer Fix

Just in case there's any confusion; the circular bubble levels on the link I posted to Amazon are an EXACT replacement for the original. At least on the HF balancer I have. Bubble Balancer Fix

Rod7515, I'm about the same age as you and I learned the triangle method when I worked at a gas station (back when most of them did repairs, of course) while in high school. I should clarify my comment "whether it's any good". Bubble balancing works, in my opinion. I'm just not too confident...

    Bubble Balancer Fix

I have this balancer: Portable Wheel Balancer Whether it's any good or not is certainly debatable. However, the bubble level on mine dried out once. I drilled it open and refilled it with antifreeze. The last time I went to use it, the antifreeze was gone and the plastic that the level was...

    Big *** fan

I was going to say watch out when you use it for a painting exhaust fan; it could pull dirt in wherever it sources air from. But thinking about it, sounds like you would filter that air.
