So that is a late build date. Not as later as June. But you are at the time frame changes did start to happen from one year to the next.

I did the same thing but the are angled a bit as those small speakers don’t balance when on the same plane. Left side angled left and right side angled to the right. I think I did like 10degrees (5per side)

I watched a show that featured how they do it. They strip it down 100% then new foam completely - shave the foam to fit the contour gauges they made then vacuum the new vinyl. The car show I saw did a firebird dash.

Just buy a good used pad and if you want perfect use that for a core and send it in for rebuild. Color does not matter as they have all the colors to match your interior colors. Post a want ad on here for a good used dash that is still in one piece. $50-100 for a good core.

As in seat medallions or outside the car?

My 72’ Demon has that - and still wears her factory rubber floor mat and 4 speed shifter. The low level bench seat is too high. I always thought it was for a center console.

That looks like a sponge that just needs some water added. I bet it is awesome stuff. Maybe keep around a bit before trashing it. Good for protecting stuff while le doing a plumbing project. Flame protection!

The nice thing is if you use the linkages and z bar from the f body, it will match the shifter and the trans shift lever. Honestly proper layout and set up and it should work like the factory designed it.

Gotta keep the line moving. Those guys back then knew how to fix stuff and quickly too.

How do you think they repaired sheet metal back in the day? There were no mig welders for home use back then. Braze with possible coat hanger and flux or real brazing rod.
