Making a car difficult to steal

I knew a guy back in the 80's, who owned a sweet custom '57 Bel Air. He called it "Windy Blue"... since it was a custom shade of blue. He would literally chain his car, to the garage floor. Big heavy chains over the front A arms, and same over the axle, all locked down, with H.D. padlocks to...

    Plum Crazy or Citron Yella?

To the OP... like someone else said, you never mentioned in your original first post, about what engines are in either one of those Demons. And he is right, we are not mind readers. With that being said...if it were me... I would choose the car, that needed the least amount of body work...

    Your first mopar...?

Very first Mopar I got, was my dad's 1975 400c.i. Newport 2 Dr. Brougham. Burgundy with the dark red/white /black"Navajo" Indian design velour interior. He handed it down to me, for a H.S. grad present, after he bought a new car, the year I graduated in '83. First Mopar I bought with my own...

How many of your personal cars ended up in junkyards?

I HAD a really nice 1990 Lebaron convertible GTC.. white with red leather interior. About 21 years ago on the way home from work one day, I was sitting in the U turn lane, waiting to go north. Some asshole in a pickup truck, slammed into the back of my car, doing between 50-60 mph. The entire...

1974 Duster 360 with sunroof production numbers

I don't know what the breakdown is on your car, but I will make an educated guess, depending on how it was optioned, and color combo...it could be one of one! Plymouth couldn't have built very many factory 360 Duster's with a sunroof! Can you please post a picture of the car, and list your options?

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

And as Matthon wrote above.... The IBM card (data) was the initial process, in building a vehicle. Then the Broadcast sheet was printed for the assembly line worker to follow. Lastly, the fender tag was produced. Oh BTW...for those interested..my father's department ran for all three shifts...

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

I have written this before, on a different thread in the past. My dad worked at Chrysler from 1963 to 1986. He was an IBM TAB computer programmer... started out in Highland Park at the headquarters, then was transferred to Hamtramyck, sometime in the '70's. His job was to program the IBM reel to...

    News from Stellantis Historical-IBM cards

Interesting thread! My dad worked for Chrysler Corporation, from 1963 until late 1985 when he became terminally ill, and too sick to work anymore. His entire career, was producing the IBM TAB build cards for cars. They used the big reel to reel IBM computers, to generate those cards. His last...

Sad day, but I had to put the car away.

Living in Michigan... the salt and brine used on the roads here, takes a heavy toll on cars and trucks. So by early November, my Duster is fast asleep Until mid to late spring, when rains have washed all the crap off the roads. I put down a tarp on the cement garage floor... for a moisture...
