Dual Plane vs Single Plane Manifold with TBI

I have a SB with header and I had a single plane. When I put A dual plan on my engine my drivability went through the ceiling. If you are just cruising a dual plane is the answer. A single plane needs gears and stall to be really effective.

Single vs Dual Plane, big difference?

I have had everything from a 318 to a 410. Without a high stall and gears, i would not consider a single plane. My 410 picked up 1.3 seconds with 2500 stall and 3.23 gears after switching to a dual plane.

    question about carb size?

I remember 400 to 500 cfm. With a 750, it will fall on it's face when floored.

How much does 1 jet size affect A/F?

Sorry, but you are not likely to get it right the first time. I have a Holley and have had several Carter/Eddy carbs and there is no one formula for jetting. Take a big swipe at jetting and then come back. If you only do it 2 times you are really lucky!!!

Street/strip carb recomm for 416 stroker

I run a 750 DP with Proform main body and Quick fuel metering blocks. It is a old used min body and new metering blocks. I ran my buddies 950 (flows 850 cfm) Holley and it ran the same as the 750. If I were buying new I would buy a Quick Fuel 850.

Running rich....To big of a carb or?

If the fuel level is in the middle of the sight glass, floats are too high. It should be that when you rock the car, fuel just splashes above the bottom of the hole. This may be your only problem. I'm surprised that it doesn't sputter when you hit second unles your car shifts soft.

    100 Octane with 12:5:1 340??

If you have aluminum heads and more than a thumper type cam, 100 will work. You would need at least a 3000 stall converter. I have a 10.5:1 , 2500 stall, 3.23 gears and run 12.35 with full exhaust on 91 octane. LOL

    Wideband

I have an Innovate LM-1. The sensor should be as close as posible to the exhaust manifold/headers. If you're carburated you can't change anything except the overall mixture. Put it in the headpipe just behind the exhaust manifold. Be sure that it is placed between 12-3 or 9-12, if not it...

    carburetor spacer

A four hole will improve power through lower to upper middle RPM range. The open spacer works on the upper mid and high RPM range. A four hole is the way to go for a street strip car. I have 2 open spcers and wish I had one 4 hole spacer.

Better fuel economy from a small 4bbl or a stock 2bbl?

If a Carter or Edelbrock start hard when hot. It's probabvly because you have more than 5psi fuel pressure. I fought it for years before a pressure regulator fixed the problem.

Thermoquad worth it - or no?

I read that the 2000 series were race carbs that ma Mopar gave their racers before it was released on any production car

    600 vs 750 Holley

A 750 will work better if you add a Quick Fuel vaccum secondary unit that if very adjustable.
