    Modern Mopar!

I'm glad they finally did the Scat Pack...the big engine in a standard R/T. I was hoping they would do this back in 2011 before I bought my 5.0 :(

14 out of 17 right. The GM ones messed me up.

Home grown DUAL snorkel air cleaner

Looking sharp Scott. Although I would've sold you my dual snorkel off an early 70's truck if you really wanted it.

Can't wait to see what the SRT version will look like.

    318 dyno results

Good #'s for a mild 318. As others have mentioned, Eddy RPM manifold, 650 cfm carb and some jetting work will easily get you over the 1 HP per CI mark.

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Yeah, I've read those threads and added my two cents as well. It's just so unrealistic to say "buy American". It's true that foreign companies and cheap products have had an impact on our economy. At the same time, think of how many U.S. companies are on foreign soil wrecking their local...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Chrysler was already in trouble when they allowed Diamler to partner up with them. If Chrysler wasn't so horribly mismanaged, then they wouldn't have had to put themselves out to Diamler. Same thing when Diamler sold out to the managing partners prior to Fiat. Why is it that American's can't run...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Fiat has the controlling aspect of Chrysler. Fiat has the final word on decision making. Regardless, I'm glad Fiat stepped up to the plate to help Chrysler out instead of letting them die out. Those of you hating on Fiat remember one thing...the guys that built the old Chryslers that you...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

I actually addressed this in my replies. REAR drive is not synonymous with CHEAP. And you can't compare a Journey to the new Dart because they are competing in different market segments.

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Shane, I like the ideoligy behind your concept. I've always preferred RWD over FWD. I agree that Dodge (being the performance brand of Chrysler) needs to bring out a RWD coupe like you mentioned. Maybe that one will be the Demon :D

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

But that's the point. The Dart was a cheap, somewhat sylish, good MPG car back in the day. Just not FWD.

Was the Neon really that unpopular? Sure, it was a death trap. But I thought they sold a lot of those things.

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Good intentions, but unrealistic. If you're building a car for the masses, particularly a 4 door sedan, with economy in mind, it's going to have to be a FWD. There's a dual benefit to FWD, it reduces the cost of production (no driveshaft, less moving parts) and increases interior volume (no...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

A couple of things here... The 64-76 Dart was built to sell to the masses. Pretty much any car today built for the masses will be a FWD. The Dart never came with a 340, 6 pack. 340, yes, but not 340 6 pack. So if it's hot rodding your thinking of, just YouTube "10 sec K-car" or "12 sec...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Just out of curiosity Shane, what is your vision of a new Dodge Dart. What kind of car do believe is deserving of the Dart nameplate?

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

I agree on the value part. However, you're missing my point. Dodge isn't building the new Dart to target the BMW crowd. Their doing it to attack a more mainstream audience...the segment that Ford, GM, Toyota and Honda compete in. Those cars are in the 23-25k range and do not start at $31k. These...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Also, if Dodge decides to do an SRT variant of the Dart, they will tread with extreme caution as not to have it outperform a newer RT Challenger.

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

That twin turbo BMW is in the $40k range and not where the Dart is going to be positioned. Dodge is not targeting the small luxury coupe segment. The Dart will be targeting the intermediate Ford Focus segment (low-to-mid 20-ish price range). Building a coupe to compete against the Toyota-Subaru...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

It DID have to do with marketing. Pontiac severely neglected the 04-06 GTO with respect to it's other models at the time. They spent very little in that department only hoping to get by on the GTO nameplate alone. Unfortunately, the percentage of the Sports Car buying public who recognize the...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Like I said, I can only count on one hand how many cars I would care ot own from that era...Grand National, 5.0 Mustang, Turbo Daytona...that's about it for me. I could easily double that count for 90's era domestics. And I wouldn't really consider late 80's return of the Muscle Car. I consider...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

I hear ya' Chlngr70. The 80's were a bad time for American cars. I can only count on one hand with regards to what car I would buy from that era. I can understand where you're coming from on the two door thing as well. It's another reason why I didn't buy the Charger. For me, I don't NEED a...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Actually, just the opposite. you have to understand what the "original" was about. The Dart's most popular years 63-76 was spent as a compact car. The idea of a compact car back then and what it is today isn't that much different...small, affordable, good on gas. The new Dart will reflect the...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

Personally, I like the retro-badging. I think the the new Charger is a good car and I like the modern take on that nameplate even though it's a 4 door. I think they could've did a better job with the Challenger though in terms of weight. I think the new Dart will be where the Neon and Caliber...

Chrysler brings back the Dodge Dart

In a recent issue of C&D or Automobiel (can't remember which one). Ralph Gilles hinted at an SRT4 on a future platform. it wasn't directly linked to the Dart, but it only makes sense here.

Ah, finally a 2011 Challenger with 15 inch wheels and real HP engine

Factory Super Stock car released a couple of years ago...or maybe even more recently. Only race teams were allowed to purchase these (forgot the criteria). You could choose either a late model hemi or a V10. I think we know which one this guy went with. Pretty cool if you can get your hands on...

    Sunroof Dart (1973) Question???

YOu have to be a visionary to see the value in a first year 340 sunroof car. 15- 20 years ago, 70-72 340 cars didn't have any value at all. Things change, and once 70 - 72 cars become exhausted, hobbyist/collectors will move onto 73/74 cars.

    Sunroof Dart (1973) Question???

A buddy of mine had a 73' Dart Sport 340, sunroof back in 1991-1992 time frame. it was black on black. Don't know if it had the space saver option. I'm not even sure what happened to that car. I did buy the 15x6.5 Rallyes off that car and still have those wheels today.

    Sunroof Dart (1973) Question???

As it stands, A-bodies aren't at the top of the list of desirability unless it's a big block car. 72' - 74' A-bodies get even less respect. But there will come a time in the next 10 - 15 years when A-bodies become more rare, then you will see the prices go up...especially if they are 340 cars.
