    Shifter adjustment(Hurst promatic 2)

    I just bought one but havent installed it yet. But according to the instructions ( which you can download from Hurst's website ) the welded one is GM. You should have one that is just like the factory, it slips over the splined shaft and gets squeezed with a bolt at the top.

    Nice job, that trans looks like new. FWIW, I did a lot of grinding on the top of the housing to help with the fitment.

    The ford 9" has a lot of benefits going for it. They are pleantiful, strong, have a huge aftermarket support, and have a huge selection of gears. I put one in my car, and don't care what anyone thinks. LOL

    545RFE Pros & Cons

    I'm working on my 63 Dart GT that's getting a 5.7 Hemi. It's getting to be transmission time and was wondering what is the best way to go? I have heard guy's using 4L65E's, NAG's, 727's, how about the 545RFE's ??? They bolt up to Hemi's, actually have 6 speeds (2nd Prime), what's the down side?
