    One of the differences to keep in mind is that the 3G Hemi's center of gravity is lower, considering it has aluminum heads sitting up high vs. the older engines heavier heads.

    There are a couple things to consider. T will divide them into the mechanical portions and the electronic. Mechanically, the Truck Hemi has a different water pump housing which holds the alt & PS pump up high in the engine compartment. The car Hemi has those accessories mounted down low...

    FYI....these are good products. A while back there was an issue with the crank that MUST be clearanced to avoid damaging other components. I want to say it was around one of the journals. I can't remember the details at the moment, but be sure and research it just to make sure the crank you get...

    10 sec 6.1 ?

    Those numbers are straight from past dyno sessions for a cam & a dyno Diablo tuned LX on a cool day. These new Hemi's are pretty conservatively tuned and cammed from the factory. I agree that it would be a perfect run on a perfect day for that to hit the 10's.

    Unless you get a smoking deal on the 6.1, you can get stock 6.1 power out of a 5.7 for considerably less money though trading the cam & heads which are both easily handled as bolt-ons. The later a-body v8 k-member is preferable by many especially if you are planning on using the TTI motor...

    Hey everyone, the biggest diff is the VVT vs. the pre-09. It is quite complicated and different. Has anyone seen an 09+ swapped yet? I really would like to see/hear from a 1st hand account. Currently I know of nobody who has used a VVT in their swap.

    Nice work! We have a local Mopar guy who has been doing real carbon fiber wraps and they turn out great! I saw a dash cap, door panel and a sail panel for his Demon. I keep thinking of what to get done for mine, and I think your dash turned out awesome.

    Not sure if cheapest is accurate but yes you would have practically all the parts. Be sure and get a 2004+ so that you can use a Diablo tuner to cope with the factory ECM.

    It seems as though we sold a factory fresh 5.7 shortblock for around $1800 a while back.so consider that when pricing out a stock rebuild. Just for clarification that is without heads, intake or exhaust manifolds,timing cover, oil pan.... Hope that helps

    I keep thinking of the SRT 6.1 manifolds in my discussions. Yes, you can use 5.7 manifolds on the 6.1 though they are pretty restrictive in comparison to the 6.1. GDemon, I haven't seen anyone else use the 5.7 exhaust on a 6.1 engine. What kind of performance are you getting with that...

    If you are willing to go with a welded solution, I have heard from one person who used a Durango hemi pan and cut then welded a notch to clear the hardware. Even though that pan is a layered metal composite, I have seen one that was welded. I plan to try that for mine.

    From the outside, mine will look very early 70's until you see the seats or pop the hood. I get what he is saying. :) BTW, with a Diablo tuner, you can put in a teen friendly tune by limiting MPH & RPM :) then switch to a power tune when yuo are driving :) Have a good time with it.
