    which 833 for a body ?

I lucked into a cast iron OD A-833 in an Aspen wagon last year. Bought the carcass just for the conversion parts, gave/traded/sold/scrapped the rest. More than paid for the car and dragging it 185 miles to my buddies' shop

    4 speed overdrive

Any difference in the strength of the cast iron over the aluminium? I've heard for instance, that the '76 F-body CI OD was the best one to get for an A-body conversion due to it being a more rigid housing, more bearing support/load capability.

    3-speed to 4-speed OD

A good buddy of mine has a nice '66 Valiant V-100 he is setting up as a cool daily driver/cruiser. Car has a 3-speed on the tree, has a short-shaft (from behind a V-8) 4-speed OD to replace. Having never done this swap, can we re-use the 3-speed bell housing? Also, he wants to find a '63-'66...
