1966 Dart Station Wagon Door Key

No, the switch is long gone and adding a switch to it doesn’t do a thing

1966 Dart Station Wagon Door Key

Does your door key on your 66 dart operate the back window? I have a 66 dart, with a power window, but I’ve never been able to get the window down

    Good guy alert

Maybe he used to be when I first met him and that’s why I thought he would do me right. Anymore, he conveniently can’t remember my stuff since the airboat incident.

    Good guy alert

Thanks. I appreciate it. I wish all transactions well well and people were as good and honest as Mouse. I just happened to have those spears around for twenty years. On the other hand, Curtis, aka Waggin, really screwed me with my wagon he has for four years and could never finish. He ended...

    A Body WAGONS-Ho! A body Wagon Thread

Two different cars entirely. The one on the street is a post car with a very small rear window and the one in the weeds has no post so it was made into a hard top. Not to mention the different tail lights and door handles as previously said.

    Fuel sending unit gasket

So where did the thickest and best gasket come from?

    Fuel sending unit gasket

It is a newer gas tank, but the tank has been on the car for over 10 years and was sealing well for most of it’s life. Now that I have had the tank taken off and cleaned out and put back together and the gas lines cleaned out from sitting too long, gas wants to leak out of the sending unit if I...

    Fuel sending unit gasket

Where do I find a good fuel sending unit gasket for 65 Valiant / Barracuda? Also I need to replace the universal joints. I don’t have an original drive train so there is no ball and reunion front universal joint in the car anymore. Where’s the best place to get aftermarket joints? I don’t trust...

65 Barracuda - Idle and no start issues

I had that happened to me many years ago with a 65 barracuda with 273. It ended up being the coil was worn out. When the coil got hot from being near the hot engine, it just quit. It would run fine when the engine was cold but as it got hotter the car wouldn’t run.

    64-65 VALIANT BODY PARTS

I guess everyone assumes you’re talking Valiants , but it could be Barracudas and or DodgeD Darts . Lots of differences in the Dodge dart, not so many differences in the Valiant, and the Barracudas are pretty much the same.

Need early A parts? Not mine. Scrap yard going bye bye

It’s a nice looking, well organized yard with lots of room. Too bad for getting rid of them. I see many cars there, all the early eight bodies, that I would love to save and stash somewhere. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. So many of them could be put back together. Too bad they can’t...

Very nice looking. I especially love the dash. Everything looks clean and new like it was 1963 again.

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

The early A-body wagon is no longer then the valiant sedan. In fact the 63 to 66 Dart station wagons or shorter than their Dart sedan counterparts because they are all based on the shorter Valiant body. I think if you are putting a bigger engine into the early A-body than what was meant to...

    67-76 floor into a 65...

That’s what I would do, too. I would also keep the structure and support of the old crossmember but just add a piece above it to attach to the floor.

Close to pulling the trigger... any specifics to watch for??

Look for: the bottoms of the rear quarter panels rusted out along with the panel behind it called the trunk drop off, Rust in the rear wheelwell lips, rust In the bottom rear of the front fenders (called the dogleg), Rust in the bottom of the cowl underneath the dash where the fresh air vents...

1964 - 1966 Barracuda starter removal and installation advice

It’s been a few years since I have done the starter, but I agree with Hyper_Pak above. You turn the steering wheel one way while it’s on jackstands and drop it down partway, then you turn it the other way and drop it down the rest of the way.

    D4B Hood Clearance?

You won’t have any issues with clearance. I had one on a 64 dart 273 engine without any clearance problems with the hood.

13" Wheel Covers with 14" or 15" Wheels

You don’t. You by 13 or 14 or 15 inch wheel covers for the appropriate size wheel.

Question about early 60's assembly line changeups.

I have never seen a fender tag on a 64 or any 63 to 66 A-Body that looks like that, but I have only owned American made Valiants and darts. What is the Canadian tag different from the American tag?

How does the trunk divider install

Anyone with half a brain on here could tell it was either for a 64 dart or 64 valiant Macman340... It seems like it would be easy to figure out on a non-convertible A-bodied car, but I don’t know how it installs in a convertible even though I used to own one... I don’t think it had it.

    Door Fix Questions

If it were me, I would work on the original door rather than use the rusty white one. I grind out the Bando and whatever fillers in there and concentrate on straightening the metal. It’s time consuming, but it’s worth learning how to shrink metal Using heat and quenching it. Some even pressure...

Body Color Parts on the '63 Dart

That does not look like a survivor car since it has way too much body color on the radiator support. It should be a satin black color with some body color overspray on it as it would have come from the factory, but I prefer to keep it all satin black.

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

You might want to do the headliner before you do the carpet. The spray glue and the other cements used will drip on the new carpet. I wouldn’t want to see your new carpet get messed up when you install the headliner.

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

Nice looking carpet for the 64 valiant Rob. When you install it, make sure you have it pushed forward enough up under the dash so that the firewall doesn’t show itself to short folks. Did you ever get a headliner put in the car yet?

Eight and three-quarter rear end driveshaft issue

Yeah, there is a special conversion joint that you need to use that has a shorter length for your driveshaft and a longer length for the rear end. I’ve used it two or three times, but I don’t remember the number for it. I’m not sure the auto parts stores can help you out either because they...
