    96 ram drum removal

    I would certainly think so.

    96 ram drum removal

All of you guys wielding hammers, torches and PB Blaster, have 1 thing in common, you're not in California. Unless the truck was used for boat launching in salt water, rust seizing the drun to the axle, shouldn't be the issue. Most likely the rear shoes are worn and grovved into the drum. This...

    what proportioning valve

You should use an adjustable valve, because the bias for the rear discs will be very different from the drums. Servo action drums vs linear action discs.

Power disc or manual, that is the question

I have converted 2 70 Dusters to disc brakes: Mine; manual with a truck master cylinder My son's; power with a stock 74 master. It also has rear discs and the residual valve removed. I prefer manual, but Brendan doesn't like the pedal effort on mine. I think that's because he learned to...

    Power brake connection

Either location should be fine, with no difference in performance or braking. The factory used a location on 1 of the rear runners, just make sure that you plug the unused port.

    Drum Brake question

If it's the rear brakes that you are referring to, then i would not expect a noticeable difference. In most situations the rear brakes contribute little to stopping, but a bunch toward keeping the car straight. The 11" drums are quite a bit heavier than the 10" and that's unsprung weight.

On a Budget? Say No to Rear Disks

Not only will they fit under 14' rims, they'll even work under 14" rims. :) Sorry, couldn't resist that. Seriously, I too have to question the value of rear disc conversions on 8 3/4's. in addition to buying a kit made up of mis-matched components, you have to use Green bearings or convert...

    Bench Bleeding Master Cylinder

Just make sure that the person operating the pedal understands nice slow gradual depression and release, not the sort of pumping motion that you would use while bleeding the system, otherwise you'l have fluid all over you and the car. :)

    Which kit?

The Summit kit is what I installed on my son's car last year, it is a plain-wrap SSBC kit and installation went very smoothly. I had 1 technical question, don't even remember what it was now and when I called Summit, they referred me to SSBC, who answered my question. As I said, that was a year...

    Trac width question???

I just want to make sure that i get on this thread, beacause I'm in a similar situation with Yukon axles.

    SSBC & DOT 5 fluid

It seems odd that they told you to put DOT 4 in it; they sell silicone fluid, their part#A1106. I use DOT 5 in both my Duster and my Flat Fender Jeep with no problems. The Jeep has been together for 18 yrs. Both systems were all new when assembled though.
