    Headliner Install Questions

I set mine so they contact the padding on the roof (ceiling) so they don't move while the car is running. Would kinda suck if I did all that work and they rattled. And mine is a '72 so it didn't have all the holes in the edges-only the two sets at the back. I assumed the idea was to have each...

    Fender Lower Mounting Studs

I would double nut them and back it out with the inside nut.

    Underbody paint advice needed

Dynamat and spray-on bed liner? Sounds heavy. And not in a Marty McFly/Doc Brown sorta way. When I did mine I painted all the structural parts (frame rails, etc.) and undercoated the sheet metal. Overspray was had but it's a black car so I didn't have a problem with that.

AMD versus Goodmark quarter panel skins.

Had the same issue with mine when I replaced them around 2000. I used a chisel and carefully hammered the line into the panel one half inch at a time. Time consuming but it did the job.

    AMD Duster Fenders?

Mine showed up in mid December and I've only dry fitted them with the doors off and they seem fine. I'll know more once the doors are back on but I don't foresee having issues with them. The only issue I have is there will never be another set for '72 only available (from AMD anyway) so I have...

    Duster windshield removal/replacement

It's around 4AM here and I'm winding down for bedtime at 5 (I work nights-up at 1PM to punch in at 3) by surfing the discussions about window molding clips for my '72 Duster and came upon this video. Promptly dropped what I was doing, marched past that sink full of dishes I was washing and...

What fasteners for 72 Duster tail light assemblies

Now that I have a chance to look, a correction-shoulder end, not pointed. The pointed ones hold the dash down under the windshield gasket. A pic of one of mine:

What fasteners for 72 Duster tail light assemblies

I believe the size is #8x32 hex head, about 3/4-1" long with a large flat washer and a point at the end.

    Body panel replacement tips/advice needed

I've used self tapping screws too. The one thing to be aware of is to run the screw into the outer panel, pull it back out and grind down the little bit of metal that gets pushed out. Otherwise you'll have a gap between the layers of metal being welded together. Not so much an issue with...

    Body panel replacement tips/advice needed

I'll share what my Teacher shared with me. When he welds a full panel on, he will keep his beads under or around 1" long. Once he stops, he immediately grabs his grinder and grinds it flush. It makes the weld small before the heat spreads and therefore, doesn't spread a lot of heat causing...

    clear

I'll agree with the DuPont suggestion. It's the only clear coat I have used that didn't orange peel. In fact, couldn't do it if I had to. Great stuff. And expensive stuff. Ken
