I've been looking for a good deal on collector muffs for a few years. When I started they were cheap but hard to find. Now they are easier to find but have tripled in price.

Sure looks like that box is smaller than a factory box. I'd bet TTI or Doug's would actually be easier with your box. Did TTI say exactly where the interference would be? I'd laos bet they just didn't want the potential laibility.

"Comps" are different than "super comps". Comps are bent like most other brands that capture the steering center link and hang low. Super comps are different and don't run under the steering.

It's really a shame, they are great flowing manifolds and they sound good.

Hooker Super Comps (not "comps") fit and don't capture the steering linkage. ...but they cost the same as TTI. I heard of someone cutting out the "sag" from the Dakota manifold (the part that interferes with the PS adjustment screw) and welding it back in upside down.

But do they fit like TTI?

Interestingly the only factory manifolds they didn't test on that 300 Magnum, were Magnum manifolds. Wonder why?

So back to 360 manifolds.... I've been thinking about this for a while. Might be a "best kept secret". Anyone know if 360-4 and 360-2 are different? ...and what the outlet size might be for each versus the 340.

Are 360 manifolds bigger than 318? Either HP or not...

Dakotas have straight filters and there's no interference. Biggest issue with magnum manifolds is they sit on the power steering adjustment. If no PS, then you should be good?

The auto industry is just now getting into styled, multi-layer exhaust tips. At least just within the last 5 or so years. Another case of Ma being WAY ahead of the times.

so what's the deal with that 101% number? I have Magnaflow's on my Dakota R/T and I love the sound. You can still tell it's a Magnum Mopar but just a bit nastier. The only time I get any drone is if I'm passing another vehicle with a tuned exhaust and the resonant frequencies coincide.

To me, flowmasters sound like someone left a few tuna can lids inside the chamber. Does that chart say a muffler flows 101% of an open pipe?

I just use the stud that came out. Sure it's not true free flow, but it's 100% better than a stuck closed butterfly. ...and it's the right size!

Who disagrees that un-coated heads rust in 1.5 years??????? ...or do they disagree that generic SBM headers can be bought at swap meets for $50-$75 bucks? I have a set that's never been on a car (no heat cycles), and they rusted hanging in the garage. I had them at two swap meets for $60 and...

...or save $125- 150 and buy a used set at a swap meet that are already rusted. Those new, non-ceramic ones will look just like them in 1.5 years or less.

Most local exhaust shops will make you custom head pipes for about $100. Might be a bit more if you need new ball flanges. Does anyone know if the 73-74 318 Roadrunners had the 340 manifolds? I know they had dual exhaust, and were rated 170HP (vs the "normal" 318 w/single exhaust at 150).

92 is a larger exhaust pipe diameter than 93 and up. Was good for 15 HP on the 5.2 Keep in mind jeep manifolds are more restrictive and that's why the jeep 5.2 was rated less HP than the Dodge.

Too bad, looks like equal length tubes and good starter access.
