what were the adds with the drawn yellow Duster (or was it a Dart Sport?) that advertised 318, 4-speed and 2.94 gear? Was that the OD box or 3.09 version with std. 4th gear?

yup

no experience but why not switch to a taller diameter rear tire? I ran my 340 with 3.23 gears and 27" diameter tires and even that would drone after a while on the highway...no interior to dampen noise

good idea. it's said the b-n-d covers shift quicker or work better for slick shift transmissions.

have you driven the car since the diff was shortened? a friend had same problem: let clutch out and it would start to roll but no go. axles were to short.

sounds like fun! the pedals/linkage fit 63-66 cars. the parts you would need to use are 67 and up.

I purchased shock extenders and threaded it onto the original rod. Not sure if I cut it done or not,probably did.

no, just the gears and modified sliders. It's a D-I-Y kit.

2.65 1st gear ratio,Liberty slick shift,sliders modified,bought and not installed,been sitting on shelf in box from I believe "Transends"? Has one stock and one modified input shift. "Looks" like it may have been cut down for use in a GM product. Just wondering,time to go or gather more dust...

63-66 would be different than the later 67 and up A-body. I believe that any 67 and up z-bar would interchange. The one I remember reading about being different but have never seen one is a 70 version that had an actual bearing in it and not the nylon bushings.

j par, haven't read every reply so this may have been brought up before. Mark Williams makes billet caps for the 8-3/4. Needs some surfacing to fit and may not fit all housings.The caps you had were the best ones from the factory. Wonder how long the others would have lasted? Bob
