    Block sanding questions

I use these AFS Sanders. A guy here from the twin cities invented them. He makes them in him garage, or he used to anyways. They work really good. There kinda spendy, but well worth it. Just keep in mind, prep work is 90% of a good straight paint job. If your cutting corners in your prep work...

Body filler--Give me a your choice please

I was a big Rage Gold guy for many, many years. I tried 3MPP the first time as a skeptic, because 3M has never had a decent body filler ever as far as I'm concerned. I used 3MPP the first time and I was sold. It sand easier than any body filler that I've ever used before. If you leave it over...

    Another paint product question

I've been using PPG for 26 years. Shopline has good clear, but I wouldn't use their basecoat if it has metallic in it. If it's a solid color, Shopline would be fine. Shopline is the same thing as Omni, with a different label, but it's all made by PPG. What color are you going with? If it's...

I heard that the CEO of Maaco was trying to turn the company around and give it a better name for itself. A guy I know brought this little car to our shop, but we were to busy to get it done in time for him. So he decided to bring it to Maaco. It took them 2 weeks, painted all the jambs, and...

    Paint and primer?

Over the course of 25 years, I have used Dupont, Sikkens, House of Kolor, Martin Senyor BASF (RM), and PPG. Although I really like Sikkens the best, but it's a little more spendy. For the majority of the 25 years I've been using PPG. It's user friendly, and it's good product. to me PPG is the...

    Polyester Primers

I never go more then 2 rounds of polyester, It's usually only 1 round (poly), then 2k primer. If you want a straight car, you never DA anything (bondo, primer, clear) nothing.

    Polyester Primers

It depends really how much the customer is paying me, the more he wants to pay, the straighter his car gets. It could be one round of polyester and one round of 2k. It could be two rounds of poly and two rounds of 2k. I don't like to post to much on these kind of threads, because everybody's...
