It feels like a flocking material, sort of like it has fibers embedded in it. It is rather thick on the 65 divider,I have 3 boards and all are very similar.

I am just going to use a medium level amp with RCA inputs and plug my ipod into it. The original radio will remain in place. This way, I can have MY music. The amp is mounted under the back seat.

3M's heavy duty spray adhesive works well. Clean surfaces, spray carpet and console, allow to get tacky, then bond them. Keep applying hand pressure to the entire surface. Done!
