Not sure how it was bent, but Dave's (jaws) K went in nice. I suppose the alignment will tell the tale.

Does the steering wheel jump to the right or left after the car is started?

Possibly need to adjust (center) steering gear valve body? Although this doesn't explain knock! Good luck.

My manual gives the hight measurment from upprer control arm to lower bump stop. Sorry, I know that won't help you.

Can anyone recommend a aftermarket ft & rear swaybar setup for a '69 Dart GT with an 8 3/4 conversion? I tried Mopar Performance stuff and the front was a b***h to install, looked crappy, & didn't fit as well as I wanted. The rear wasn't that bad, but I want a matched set. Thanks, Brock
