Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

Thanks for saying. Again, the only reason I brought it up is to maybe help the OP from getting screwed. $5,000? :Oh My!

Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

Nothing else than. Besides the power brake comment and a misdirect referencing 340s in general (NOT '73 Dusters), nothing. Until the matter is responded to by the OP, I don't know if it does or does not concern him. It's a huge issue to gloss over IMO and something I would certainly want to...

Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

It's a place to start. If it's NOT a 'H' code tag, chances are better it's not a 340. If it IS an 'H' code tag, that doesn't mean there's IS a 340 in it either. They look unlike any OEM stripes I've seen. IF they are '72, what are they doing on a '73 car? Another thing, considering the...

Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

....I still want to know why it's 'known' to be a 340..... 'Lots of 340s had manual brakes...' didn't answer the question as to the '73 part of the equation. Not that a 318 can't be fun. If someone is expecting 'x' amount of performance from an engine, it helps to know what they're starting...

TTI 1 7/8 Headers hitting oil pan

But....there WAS oil in the pan? I would be less concerned with heating a pan full of oil than one empty and full of fumes. Liquid gasoline will quench a match. Have some extinguishers on hand! Stick a shop vac on a valve cover hole prior to lighting it up with a torch. Maybe just use a...

TTI 1 7/8 Headers hitting oil pan

Not applicable to your situation, BUT: My one-each Hedman header of the nominal size (1-5/8") didn't fit with my Milodon pan without some 'persuasion' to the header with a hammer. It is also true that my Milodon pan is not shaped like yours. It's maybe not JUST the 1-7/8" part of the equation...

Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

In answer to the first question: Curious: What makes you think it's a 340? I'm not an expert on the matter...or even a slow drip under no pressure at all...but the lack of a vacuum boost on the brakes is one thing that makes me wonder.
