Isn't ratchet where you just push up on the handle and it shifts, thus eliminating overshifting? My shifter is gate, but if you put it in ratchet mode you just flick through the gears

I have a ratchet/gate shifter, Hurst V-Matic II

eh, not too sure yet, I'm debating whether I should keep em or sell em. Not sure if I should keep them for when I get around to having a 4 speed.

It seems like Motive Gear includes the timken bearing...unfortunately they don't have a kit for an 8 3/4! :angryfir:

I have a 8 3/4 3.91 (489 case) rearend that needs new bearings. On top of that, I'm also going to buy 3.55 gears for it. Does anyone know a credible company that sells the ring and pinion installation kit w/ bearings? I was looking at this and not sure if its a reliable kit...

I second that, I got that and it was literally a 15 minute install, saved a LOT of trouble!

No, I tried it, didn't work out too well, lol. I went to a junkyard and got linkage off a 360 and even that was a bit off.
