    Ineffective Foam Cleaner

When I was a kid, my Dad would show me how to clean the fork bearings on a bicycle (circa 1960's). He poured gasoline into a little jar, then gave me an old toothbrush to clean them with. Smelled awfully good back then. Could explain my brain damage now, though ...

    Plastic welder

The key is using compatible plastic. There's, like 3000 kinds of plastics!!! (I learned this from my I-CAR classes.). If you don't, it's like mixing oil and water. In the case of my Kawasaki cover, I trimmed a little plastic of the inside cover and used it as a donor to weld the broken tab...

    Plastic welder

I got the cheap-o Harbor Freight one. I have used it to fix a refrigerator drawer, a Kawasaki side cover, and a handful of other small things. For the price, it's been a great tool.

Penske Tach Doesn’t Work Since Upgrade

Much thanks for the replies. It read dwell and the tach worked with the old dual point. Since the upgrade, the tach didn’t work. I’ll reply back in a week or so once the gauge cluster is back in.

Six of the nine posts to this thread deal with the ****-music...weird. Now seven out of ten including this one.

Torque loss with a universal socket?

I always figured that an extension “absorbed” some of the torque reading. I could not get a torque wrench and socket on an intake manifold bolt, always needed an extension. So i’d Listen for the “click” then push it just a hair more....not even an eighth of an inch, just a smidge. I’ve not...

    Ceiling mount heater

I don’t have any answers for you. I bet a lot of FABO members do, though. But, have you checked out www.garagejournal.com? Damn near everything you ever wanted to know about garages, tools, and other stuff.

I got one back in the eighties, used it all over an MG I raced back in the days. I loved that tool!

    Craftsman Tools

Our garage burned down about seven years ago. Bought a large new set of Craftsman after that. Then bought my ‘66, pretty damn much overhauled the whole friggin’ car....never broke a wrench, socket, ratchet...anything. I don’t use the tools professionally, and they’ve worked for me.

Penske Tach Doesn’t Work Since Upgrade

My old Penske analyzer’s tach does not read anymore since I pulled the old dual point dizzy out of my 273 and put in a Mopar electronic system. Any ideas, or is this now obsolete?

    I found the floor!

My family thinks a garage is to store stuff. What used to hold three cars now only holds two. Crap accumulates.

    Shed on the cheap.

For you drinkers out there, check out Pininterest for pallet bars. Lots of cool ones.

    Get-n R done.

Had a race-prepared MGB back in the day. That’s how we pulled the motor. 10’ 4x4”, two guys on each side, came out and went in easy!

    HF air compressor

I had one, noisier than hell. It put out enough air to paint, but hardly enough for air tools. I was disappointed. I eventually bought a 60 gallon Kobalt from Lowe’s, single stage but runs on 220v. Made me a happy guy!

for the guy who needs one of everything......

Wow, $1800? Hard to argue, it looks like it's in awesome condition. But I don't make a seven figure salary, no way I would pay that much.

    cart

I sat mine down on two of Harbor Freight's $9.00 wooden coasters. It was a little awkward getting the casters to roll in the same direction, but it worked and it was cheep!
