    Build That Engine Run Stand

couple of box fans on a table, boxes or chairs... They re-purpose easily I wouldn't go all fancy on electric fans on the stand radiator. Hillbilly all the way!

    Build That Engine Run Stand

Same at the Rad support bars. That leg from stand to support, drill a vertical hole and secure. Then put a tab on that leg to capture the support upright, drill horizontal and bolt. Maybe put another tab on the upright to hold onto the crossbar under the supports. It would have 2 bolts per...

    Build That Engine Run Stand

Weld a couple of capture plates on the legs at your stand, drill horizontal holes and run a bolt through to secure. Love the idea of breaking it all down to a set of tubes leaning against the wall. Normal run stands take up a ton of space. A buddy has one hanging in the rafters of his garage!

    American AutoWire crimping tools

Moser electric sells the tools. Usually better prices than most outlets. Find out what the Delphi number is on the tools. I bought them to do weatherpacks, etc. You can't use the cheaper ratchet crimpers on some of the terminals. Just depends on the ends that need termination. I'd loan you...

Got some of the stuff loaded up on the rack. Clears a bunch of space on my bench. Need to trim the rods to fit and should be good to go.

Yeah the stuff on the cars needs to go. Built a wire rack for the harness stuff. Wish I had a mill to do some of the work. Would have been easier than the drill press, grinder and round file.... Some ugly *** weld because it was windy. :) Mounted up on wall. Fricken stud finder was way...

Got some shelving up. Went on craigslist just for sport. Found this stuff and the seller wanted $15, showed up, said give me a 10 spot. SOLD!!! Looked on HD website at the closetmaid heavy duty items. All this stuff would cost almost $175 if bought new. I was pretty happy with it. Cool guy...

    swapping k-frame

Just watch out if using anything that lifts in a V fashion. As long as the lift point is tight to the radiator support, you should be OK. If you put anything that extends forward, the V pull has been known to tweak frame rails. I used two pieces of scrap angle iron, 1 piece of square tube and...

    Lighting improvements

LOL, maybe some of you need to take the time out of your day to go shopping for me to find LED's. I also wanted something that has replaceable bulbs and many of the cheaper LED are not a true bulb. I don't have time to waste going to "join" a club store that I'll never shop at to buy LED...

    Lighting improvements

Std. I couldn't justify the increased cost of LED. The fixtures were greater than 2x the cost and bulbs were 7x IIRC. I don't care how much more efficient they are, no way I'd recoup the additional outlay for the amount they are used. If they were on 10+ hours a day... maybe. I can buy a...

Is there any way to test a breaker?

Kev, I bought a small roll of 10/3 to put a 220/30 amp plug in the new garage. I have a bunch left. If you want it, I can send it to you. Or tell me how much you want and I'll lob off a section for you. @Revhendo And yeah we tiger striped the white wire! LOL

    Lighting improvements

Moved into a new house and the garage was dark. Only bulbs in the place were one 60watt on rear wall and the garage door opener. Even with the door up it was hard to work at the bench. Sun goes down or close and it was over. Spent about $250 on fixtures and fresh bulbs. Also helps to...

What are these called and where can I get a set?

Thanks for the referrals. Mine are made, IIRC, of thicker material than either of the other two items mentioned. Once you buy a decent set of casters, material, figure out how to make them and required offsets to keep things level, you'll be in a few hours minimum. Then go to the actual...

Help with floor jack, leaked and won't pump?

When I rebuilt my old sears jack, my neighbor that does BIG hydraulic rams and used to do jack repair said use transmission fluid. Find the leak on your jack and repair it. Some of the seals ar easy to get, others are more difficult. Hiball over at this site is a really good guy. Overseas...

    Which Mig welder to buy?

Buy a 220 machine if you don't plan to move it to remote locations. I like Miller and Lincoln welders. Buy the biggest you can afford. If you can get a 210-220 class machine, they are really nice. If I could do it again, I'd buy a 250 class machine instead of the Miller 175 machine I...
