    Engines built like what you want usually run about 350hp. If you port the heads well it will be in the 375 range. I'd run a different intake and carb, something like what rumble mentioned MM articles are pretty famous for grossly inflated numbers. Like the stock shortblock, stock headed 340...

    Yeah, run it and be disappointed when it doesn't make as much as they said. Westech dyno strikes again. That had a set of ported heads on it as well.

    Put some 2.5" tubes, noisy turbo muffs and no crossover of any kind and it will sound choppier.

    I'd stick with your current plan but keep it simple. You don't need anything fancy regarding rockers, etc. To get ede's in the same range as the RHS from Brian, you'll be in over 2g's easily. Takes very little camshaft to get a 360 even with 9:1 to the 400hp mark.

    The RHS will support more than 425hp, especially if you install a 2.02 valve. There are many unported rhs heads on 360's and 400 inchers making 485+ and some in the low 520's. Pick your parts, pay your money. Some of those cracks in mag heads aren't anything, others are more serious.

    Run it. It might be better at 104 if it's a 9:1 engine. If together, just go with it as is.
