    71 Duster Project.

Mikebee hit it with the likely VIN. Don't sweat a fender tag. It won't be worth the trouble of making one up or the price.

    71 Duster Project.

You won't find a complete vin on the car that I know of. Look here for the last 8 of the vin.

    1972 demon barn find

Why do you think you have an AAR engine block, because it has a 340-6 casting on the side? If that's why, you can settle down, it's not a 6 pack block. :) A T/A block has T.A. in the casting number. If you have that then you could list the vin and see if the car is still alive somewhere...

    1972 demon barn find

Wow, bonus it's a floor shift manual trans car. NICE!

    1972 demon barn find

That's a casting number. The vin is usually on a small pad on pass side of block just above theh pan rail and below the drain plug.

    1972 demon barn find

Welcome. When you get the 340's post up the vin numbers off the blocks. Plenty of people are looking for missing engines.

New To Forum and New Car

Welcome... Nice looking car. For the trans it's most likely a 904, look at the pan shape, If it has a step out area near the dipstick, it's a 727. 904 is a squarish shape with a corner cut off. Intake see if you can get a LD4b, good intake. Weiand stealth is also another good one Carb...

    need help choosing 340 cam

That cam works really well in a 340. Depending on intake, it will easily go 6500 and more. Make sure you have plenty of gear and converter.
