    73 dart doug's D450 headers?

He's in europe... probably not a lot of early A's rolling around there. In the US, I agree sell them and get 453's.

Just like Dougs don't fit 73+ cars acccording to some fit guides. Sure they don't.

Doug’s headers 74 duster power steering?

Yes I have and a warning for you on install. These cars were built with horrible tolerances. So something that fits awesome on one car, especially headers, may be a tight fit or have clearance issues on a different one. Just the way things work out. Yes these headers fit a 74 Duster with a...

    Doug’s or tti headers

Ground clearance with Dougs and tti are good, above the steering linkage. Cheapies, not so much.

    1 7/8 headers on 69 dart?

tti 1 7/8 headers are not the best header for making power in that tube size. Unfortunately most of the better options don't fit as well or require a hole in the inner fender. PS and 1 7/8 headers in an A body are almost always a no go. Tti being an exception.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

Bad choice of header for that engine too. REALLY BAD. But who cares... None of that matters to the OP's vague question.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

It's all about personal choice. My favorite saying to address anything car related. Pick your parts, pay your money. What others think of a decision/choice means nothing in what someone desires to do with their car.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

Nowhere in this thread did the OP mention the build, so any conclusions drawn about whether the headers are a benefit to his deal are moot.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

What is your definition of HUGE. The question itself is vague. Is 4-5% huge on a 300hp engine,or is it 10%, likely unattainable. That's the issue. Stock manifolds will not compete with even the junky 1 5/8 header when the carb and timing are tuned properly... which the magazine DID NOT do...

That's it Rob.. harder pull on intake tract.

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

same deal as guys that I used to beat running nitrous. They'd rather do it without. Cool. Same approach as headers. I used to tell complainers... Build your best piece running manifolds or NA, I slap a set of headers or a juice unit on it and beat you with your own stuff. Ask the FAST guys...

    Headers vs 340 manifolds

Those test did not change the carb setting IIRC. If set up for the logs, headers aren't going to make as big of a change. FAST cars are a totally different animal. Same as people that think Stock Eliminator cars are "stock" :) If 340 manifolds were the same as headers, stock or super...

Has anyone used the Pypes universal 3.5" X pipe system?

X, H or none are all combo dependent. No base answer is correct for everything. Have to test them all and find which works best. If you want to run the X, just run it and live with the results.

    Dougs D-453

I called them about 7-10 years ago. Mentioned they should send me a couple sets of headers for all the D453 sales on cars these don't fit. The manager wasn't amused. Yet they still haven't updated the fitment... Money walking out the door for them.

    Dougs D-453

Dougs is even wrong about fit in this one. They say 72 yes, 73+ no... Huh??? . Ask them why, they have no clue. I posted pics above of a 73+ car with 453's installed...

    Dougs D-453

DO NOT rely on summit. They have been wrong lots of times. There are MANY 73+ A body PS, Auto trans cars with D453's installed. What's the difference between a 70-72 and 73+... motor mounts and steering linkage. Same car from a base layout perspective. 73 car with Dougs

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

IF you can still get 15-20% off through autozone, makes the Dougs a better deal. Gone are the days of coated dougs for $420-450, 1K for tti. UGH

    TTI headers

JMO from seeing them, the TTI 1 7/8 LA headers are NOT good. I'd rather run the step headers on stuff than those other tti headers. They TTI do fit nice.

What exhaust manifold gasket for slightly pitted 340 manifold

Maybe wire brush it and get some high temp filler and skim coat it. Hit with a sanding block on the skim and run it.

Hedman Hedders fenderwells. I'd use those over hookers every time.

    Header fitment rant, Doug's

tti location measurements CHECK THE ENGINE LOCATION:All K-members are not identical and the dimensions must be checked to ensure proper fitment of the headers or exhaust system. If the engine is not located correctly in the chassis our products will not fit properly. If necessary place shims...

    Best option for headers

Dougs coated is the best value for fit. If you can get them in the states with the 20% off code that autozone runs, even better.

    Exhaust manifolds, no numbers

I saw one post in the ads where it was mentioned that the ones without casting numbers were for T/A and AAR. That's just not true. There were no special bins for exhaust manifolds at the factory for a 6 pack engine. They all came out of the same lots. The reason the numbers are not clean and...

    Headman 1 5/8 headers pn#7850 and 4-speed fitment

Read the instructions, you'll be dropping the center link and a tie rod! 4 speed stuff/clutch linkage is not an issue. I dislike those headers and all the hooker copies with a passion... #5 & 7 plug wires are a pain as well.

    Exhaust Manifold Casting #'s - CORRECTED 340 #'s

@newmexguy I only fixed the disaster of the 340 manifolds that were in the original list. Most of the people, mymopar being one of them, that had the wrong list have up dated to the new corrected list for the 340 manifolds. The break that you mention was likely a page break in the original...

    TTI vs Dougs

Going from a non coated header to a coated (no thermal inside) makes a huge difference in temps. I doubt the delta from no interior thermal to thermal coated is much. I heard the coating is not throughout the complete interior tubing either. Might be an interesting test to see temps with each...

    TTI vs Dougs

IMO, waste of money on the thermal stuff. I buy coated dougs every time now. Use the autozone code and the coated are in the 560 range.

What Headers fit best in Barracuda small block with powersteer

Hedman are hang low junk IMO Run either Dougs or tti. Better fit with no tubes hanging under the steering linkage. Run a mini starter, unless you want the gear reduction sound. I buy them at the boneyards on 1/2 off days. Some of the headers require it.
