    if you can put a piece of wood on the backside of the hood for the pilot to go through, that will reduce run out when cutting your holes.

    Part of the issue on a Duster is the frame structure. The Dart hood usually has an easier time with cutting a hole and a small crescent in the structure to accommodate it.

    Not functional on any OEM twin scoop Duster I've ever seen. They were purely for looks. Have a factory twister hood here, no opening. The 70 Dart could have the cut out.

    Front framerail components needed!

    Check closely where the upper a-arm mounts/shock tower attach. You may be better off sending back the cap and replacing the front section of your rail with a good used piece from a parted car. Never seen those top plates available anywhere.

    70-72 Darts have a vertical strut that attaches to the lower rad support loop, so it's not that one. Looks like the one from my 70 Duster.

    What do you need? Most of the stamped stuff is marginal at best for portions of a floor pan, as you've found out.

    If you are throwing the current floor pan away, cut the spot welds with a grinding wheel on a 4.5" grinder. There's a crapload of them! It will take a lot less time to remove the current pan.

    On the 68 cars, the fender tag has a UBS with letters under them. If the car was silver metallic, the B would be designated for "buffed"

    Same floor There are dimples where the bucket tracks would bolt through.. Support plates for the inside tracks as well.

    What are the first 10 digits of the VIN on this 820 SPD Duster? Correct on the reason for the spine. The spine appeared during the 1971 model year. Early cars had the non spine decklid.

    69 Cuda rear floor

    The up and over panel is the same basic piece on the A's regardless of wheelbase. Part number 2842080, is the same for notch, fastback, darts and valiants. The wheelbase difference is dealt with in the main floorpan section.

    How to find the spot welds

    Hit the area with a flap wheel. Usually the spots are low spots and paint will remain. Run your finger over the area and feel for low spots after it's cleaned up.

    Get some construction paper or poster board. Lots easier to cut and trim than most cardboard. You'll probably have to do three pieces.
