    Duster - Suspension/Wheel/Tire Combo Question

According to a spreadsheet that I did years ago, with an 8.5" wheel, 4.81" backspace centers the it up in the wheel well. That's stock SBP 8.75 std length Not having the spring moved and a 275 tire is going to be a tight fit no matter what.

Run a 1/8" spacer if needed as long as the wheel aren't hub centric.

I personally sold multi-hundreds of Centerlines with radial tires in the mid 80's. Even had product seminars with Centerline, they never warned us about mounting radial tires on the wheels.

Looks good. I think you need a shield plate to protect any exposed section of your fuel cell hanging out the bottom.

67-69 Dart...275/60/15 drag radials...how low is your stance?

I have 275's on an 8.5 C/L wheel 4.875 BS on my 70. Pretty similar wheelhouse, etc. I only moved the spring over with offset boxes. The rear is shortened a little as well. Using frame relo boxes you'll have a bit more room than I have. I had to trim the fender lip.

67-69 Dart...275/60/15 drag radials...how low is your stance?

If you put them on a 7" rim it's easier. An 8 or 8.5 rim makes section width wider. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?p=1559522#post1559522 Check Zhandfull's car out. Springs in frame. It's tight. Trimming the fender lip will help.

    Gotta get that stance!

That car look a lot like Wayne Smothers car out of Oklahoma. He's not here at FABO. He's on moparts and goes by "Big Squeeze".

tire + rim size shortend diff

If you have 5.5 backspace and add .75 in spacers to get the wheel where you want, you would need a wheel with 4.75" backspace. The spreadsheet I created computes a 15x10 wheel with 5.5" backspace will be centered in the wheelhouse on that car.

Back spacing on B body rear end in 73 Duster

5/16" per inch on each side. So figure a ~5.75 BS to get the wheel centered.

Back spacing on B body rear end in 73 Duster

6" of backspace should center the wheel in your wheelhouse. This assumes, no relocation or mini tub. Figure out from there how much less you can run to keep the tire out of the outer lip.

    Centerline Wheels warning

So you took what summit had on their site as a guarantee when they aren't actually producing the wheel? Those estimated ship dates are terrible sometimes. Notice it says "estimated". I recall when Ede victor BB heads were nowhere to be found. Those ship dates rolled over every 3-4 weeks for a...

    69 B body 8 3/4 in a 68 A body with 15x7s?

Yep, that backspace is going to be REALLY tight on your 1/4 panel. I don't think it's going to work without trimming, especially if the car sits down on the tire.

    69 B body 8 3/4 in a 68 A body with 15x7s?

Only 1.8" longer and they added 2.5" of backspace to each wheel... hmmm. Here's some correct info on axle housing and drum to drum lengths. http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/axle/16.html

    69 B body 8 3/4 in a 68 A body with 15x7s?

Error #1 - 62-70 b rears ARE NOT the same width... Period! Error #2 - 53.2" LOL... nope. Error #3 - 1.8" F it, believe what you like.

    69 B body 8 3/4 in a 68 A body with 15x7s?

That article is full of bad numbers. 68 B body rear is 3" longer in total than an A body. 60 1/8 vs 57 1/8. To put wheels in the same spots, they need 1.5-1.75" more backspace on each side. They can actual have more backspace change.

Widening sbp 5X4 14 inch wheels to 15's

If you have a jig, and a method to remove the SBP centers, then yes you can do it. There is a company that sells wheel shells and you need to get the correct ID to make them work.

B -body rear back in duster (back space)

If you want the wheel centered in the wheeltub, it takes about 8.8" backspace which may be tough to find. That backspace is from rim edge (+.5" each side), not bead. A stock A body 8.75 rear with BBP conversion uses ~7.75" backspace 10" rim to get them under the car.
