    That is the 10000 day build date and unit number, no the VIN. VIN is on a pad, pass side, just below the block drain plug. Probably originally a 73 model year engine.

    Thanks RRR. That would have to be a FAST turnaround to be a 71 model year engine. It's likely a 72 model year based on the mid june casting date. The VIN pad appears to have something stamped in it. Could you get those numbers? Thanks
