4 door bench seat into a 2 door bench?

The seat in my 72 dart 4 door has a piece shaped like a figure 8 on each side that prevents the seat backs from pivoting forward, remove the pieces and the backs will fold forward like a seat from a 2 door but there will be nothing to lock the seat backs from pivoting forward.

    Medallion Removal

You have to pry the fingers back on the retaining washers so you can pull them off the stud. Be very careful not to break the stud, you might have to sacrifice the retaining washers by cutting them off with a dremel but those are replaceable, the medallion isn't repoped so use care.

Why on earth do we carpet floorboards?

Carpet cuts down on heat and road noise and looks more luxurious which is what new car buying sheeple have been told they want so that's what the majority of cars get built with. If you want the ultimate utilitarian floor covering lay down a couple of coats of bedliner.

??welding up a 73 duster dash??

I like my dash without the pad Metal and filler is a lot cheaper than a dash pad, if you fill in the holes making 2 big patches instead of 5 smaller ones will make it easier.

Seat belt connector bushing (shoulder-to-lap belt connector)

It's a non replaceable part. You might be able to stretch the right sized rubber wire grommet over the pin to hold the shoulder belt in place though. You can't switch the driver and passenger side belts.

    Dart dash removal

You can leave the windshield in but you'll have to cut bottoms of the "J" nuts off from under the dash and push whats left of the bolts up through the hole and fish them out from under the windshield gasket. To re install the dash you put new "J" nuts on the dash instead of the body and bolt or...

How many of you without a dash pad? Now With Pics

I find on later dashes with the 5 cut outs that it's easier to weld in 2 bigger pieces of metal rather 5 smaller ones, it makes it easier to control the body line along the top of the dash. The first dash that I welded I patched each of the 5 holes individually and got some warpage, the body...

dash has hole not sure what goes there

The hole is for the cigarette lighter. That cluster is meant to go with the dash that has the lower dash pad, the lower pad would delete the ash tray in the center of the dash along with the lighter so they stuck the lighter up next to the radio.

    dash questions

Put the "U" nuts in upside down on the dash intead of the body and screw the dash in from the bottom. You have to use the thin ones that take sheetmetal screws and use short screws so the tips of the screw doesn't push against the windshield gasket.

    dash questions

The dashes are different from 69 to 70, the key moved from the dash to the column in 70 so the wiring is going to be different between the two. You can get the dash out without pulling the windshield. There are 5 screws that are hidden under the windshield gasket that cant be accessed while the...

I ditched my dash pad and filled holes in the steel frame on my Dart, see this thread: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=101115 It does require removing the dash from the car for best results, welding and grinding near glass will mess it up. You can pull the dash without...
