    carter carbs floats are adjustable by bending the tang.Holleys and carters are quite different.

    If I ran nitrous i,d have to have a seperate fuel pump with a low pressure cut off switch to disarm the spray if it went lean. But i,m cautious.

    What size carb?Carb too big can cause low port velocity. Takes a bit for the motor to burn off fuel droplets not suspended in the intake plenum.

    electric fuel pump with stock gas tank

    I did this with a comp 140 pump. I had to pressure my tank with air to prime the pump. As long as it stays primed it works great. I carry a piece of hose and a wad of plastic to stuff in the neck so i can blow in my tank till it picks up fuel if I ever run out.

    In your initial thread I suggested that you buy a new set of plugs and change a couple as you make changes. This will tell you if youre on the right track when you read them.You can always use a set later.

    Also when you tune if you arent a pro an extra set of plugs come in handy.When trying a jet package swap in a couple new plugs and run it a week or so. Then you can read those plugs and get a good idea whats happening inside the cylinder.

    Carb tuning isnt that hard. Jets are cheap. I have ran 750 eddys and holleys and carter competition series carbs on 318s and 360s. Dont be scared. Google what you dont know. This is what I did and i,m very happy with my carb now.Damon has a very good white page on carb tuning at diamondback...

    Jetting any carb to the intended usage is a good deal. Its the difference between a car of cobbled together parts out of boxes or a fine tuned machine.     HOLLEY 770 wont idle down.

    I think it could still be a vaccuum leak.Could you possibly be forcing the throttle blades completely closed and it idles on the leak. Where was the adjustment originally.Maybe you are forcing it closed past the original idle adjustment.

    Heres a question on top of his question. I have always wondered if a two step box could be used for this. Fire it up and throw a little advance at it so it idles up till it gets warm,then dial it back where you want it and go. Would this work.

    Holley has an excellent book on tuning their carbs thats available on amazon. Why not take the time to learn enough to get yourself out of a pinch while youre at it.Murphys law if you dont teach yourself a little the problem will pop back up.I knew didly about carbs but with a little studying...

    yes try reducing the air bleeds or plugginga couple so it pulls more fuel.
