    Can you see the fuel pulse in the filter? Try feeding the cardb a little gas and then crank it. If it fires you know its a no fuel issue. Maybe a stuck float. stuck up when you turned it upside down. Not letting fuel in the bowl.

    I think my machinist bud told me that theres flat spots that are measurement pads around the outside. So a machinist could tell if they have been milled.

    Hell, just raise the pivot point of the pedal and extend the pedal arm. Longer arm ,more leverage, less effort to push it.

    You will need an early 904 converter as the later maybe 68 up converters wont fit your crank register. Snouts too big. Iirc.

    I,ve got 250 k so far on my s10 with conventional changed every 5k and have never cracked a valve cover, replaced a chain.Nothing but water pumps alternators and filters. Nothing oil related. 30 weight in winter 40 weight in summer,in Houston.

    Carburetor loses prime after 8+ hours

    Try a vented gas cap. The old unvented caps will build a small vacuum on the tank when the temp changes. A lot of people rip out the vent line or disconnect the vapor canister so theres no vacuum break. So the tank sucks the fuel out of the bowl cause theres no vacuum break.

    x2 Premium is higher octane which contrary to popular belief burns slower. This fights preignition.Pull a plug and see whats going on. If its sooty black its too rich. Float problem or stuck choke.

    It could be anywhere. All depends on where the intermediate gear is stabbed in the cam.If you have a 0 mark on your damper bump the motor over till the piston comes up and tries to blow your finger off the holethen try and get that mark on the 0 on your timing tab.     Dual springs are better or even prefferred. Its a safety issue. If one breaks your throttle will still return. I wouldnt run without two.Does the breather have a connection on the bottom for that hose?

    Higher octane just burns slower to quell preignition in high compression motors. Doubt it will do anything in a 3.7 but empty your wallet faster.Look for a metal tag or stamped numbers on the carb to find the right kit.

    How are the plug wires. ?Could a bad old wire be tricking your timing light. Try your light on another wire to see if its erratic. Check the timing cold and hot.Maybe its not timing at all and its leaning out when the choke pulls off.
