Mine did the exact same thing mine lasted about 2 or 3 weeks maybe a month, I took it out tore it apart and found that the wires inside just burnt in half the solder failed. I soldered them back together and its been fine since.

I had planned on taking measurements and replicating my shumakers before installing them and completely forgot to! I have a set of standard set of v8 spool mounts somewhere i wish I would have compared them before installing my engine. I did a 360 swap in a 75 dart using the shumaker conversion...

His car appears to be a 73+ which means spool mounts. Not as simple as a swap now that shumaker mounts aren't available. He would have to make his own or swap out the whole k frame not an easy job either!

I would check the local trading papers and fb marketplace, craigs list etc, and find a running slant six and swap em out! Then you can take your worn slant six and learn how to work on it while your driving your duster back and forth to work!

Let me clarify the screwdriver is just to feel the location of the piston. do not rotate the engine with the screwdriver in the plug hole!

Take the plugs out and put your finger over the number one hole. And turn the engine over by hand And when you feel it creating pressure keep turning it till you get all the way to the top. You can use a tdc stop tool but I use a screwdriver. Just be careful not to wedge the screwdriver in the...
