the problem with rust in these cars is it gets between all the panels. it’s hard to see how far it goes until you start cutting into it. my car didn’t look that bad at first. I’ve ended up replacing 2/3rds of the sheet metal.

thanks , my skills aren’t that great, i just fail till i get it right . I went to school to learn autobody basics. They did really teach us how to rebuild a whole car body full of rust though. My teacher told me to buy a car with no rust. lmao !

I got the right inner fender installed, tossed the fenders on to make sure everything still fits.

I’m just trying to turn it back into a car again on a low $$ budget . No pure breading going on here . What ever crap i have laying around the shop is what’s going on the car lol.

got a little more work done this weekend, air compressor blew up so that slowed me down a bit. that’s life lol .

i think he used walnut shells, it was a long time ago. i wouldn’t blast a hole car, it’s too hard to get the sand out.

never ending rust repair!

i took the doors and fenders to a company and had them blasted, the rest i did with a da and 36 grit sandpaper and a stripper wheel on a drill. small parts i blast in my harbor freight blasting cabinet.

Note to self , make sure radiator fits before welding in radiator supports lol ! I had to drill out a bunch of plug welds and try again.

Back at it, doing some front end rust repairs.

welded up and ground down the passenger side quarter panel this weekend. starting to look like a car again.

Cleaned up and welded in the donor outer wheel well

Fit the wheel well and trimmed and threw the quarter up on there. Feels like I did something lol.

Cut off what was left of the drivers quarter panel skin. Started removing the outer wheel well . That sucker is a bear to get out. I believe they were designed to be removed in one piece . Hopefully I can be fitting the new quarter skin this weekend!

Looks great! I had 1967 dart GT 273 white with black vinyl top . It had pearl white bucket seats and door panels and the rest of the interior was a red wine color. That was the nicest intierior of any a body I’ve owned .
