i picked up a set of 340 X heads 2531894 ready to install -sold the car, what's the going rate these days? how do I decode the date?

no smoke when get on/off it...good oil pressure no leaks. compression was 110psi

the set up was in the car when I bought it...don't know how they were prepped. the head #'s are 367587

AJ, I have a newly reconditioned A833 from Passon Performance 4spd, 355's as we said...and 275 60's on the back. I AGREE wholeheartedly that I am looking for off the line torque. So w/out swapping the trans gearset, am I looking back to a cam change?

Would swapping the 355's to 391's help low end torque?

So are you saying keep the 360 hands and just degree the cam? Or adjust the cam and put the X heads on?

It's low compression 8.5 and does bog. I'm looking for more low end torque...my mechanic says it's due to the cam.

Thanks...interior had duster seat covers originally (vertical pleats). I had an upholstery shop swap the inserts. I compared price to finding a good bench seat and replacement plaid seat covers from Legendary and saved considerably just doing the inserts. Key buzzer works w key in ignition...

Purple shaft 282/482 I believe-it was in there when I bought it

I am not knowledgable mechanically so forgive me in advance. I have a 72 demon with a 340 block 69 and 360 heads with a purple cam 282/482. The 360 heads are 1.88 intake 1.62 exhaust. I have a complete set of X heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust... this is a 4spd street car with a weiand...

Maybe the carburetor needs to be tuned … I don't feel it's crisp at 1500… It kicks in for 3 to 5000 RPMs ...I feel it bogs down off the line
