Is it only me or are Roller Rockers noisey ?

im pretty sure its the cam that sounds. dont think its that much of a deal, there is always these litle things that are telltales on motors that are hotter than stock. my 340 with an xr280r is like that also.

    Cam

sorry if that came out wrong, hard to get the meaning right on internet. but i just keep on hearing very good things about the mentioned member and his knowledge and so far i never heard anything bad.

    Cam

i would never change cam to get that sound of power, i would build an engine to make the power that creates the cool sound, however i understand its not for everyone since it means you need to do a whole build. i would follow anything sugested by OU812 he is very thrustworthy and always...

    Balancer question

nope sounds more like cheap than a great idea realy. after seeing what happens when a cheap damper blows apart i will never buy a cheap one,the one i say literaly blew apart sending one pretty big piece of iron into a framerail making a pretty good dent and another piece smashed thru the outlet...

    Oil explosions when revving engine

i would not bet my life on it,but check around the oilfilter, have had two engines where the oilpumps have had some kind of problem regulating the oilpreasure, ending upp with massive amounts of oil on the bandaged headers, twice resulting in underhoodfires. have also blown an oilfilter, good thing...

    New headers TTI or Doug

big numbers sells magazines. on the dynosims dont thrust the numbers, but spot the trends, these programs are usefull to figure out what changes are worth doing and wich are not, they can be accurate but those that are close realy demands perfect input on everything. my blown 340 should...

Let me see you baddest Eddy headed small blocks..

thats a shame,i realy didnt want to go that way in the first place but this build was something that just ended up like this somehow and E85 is fairly easy to find around here and the price of it is not skyrocketing like highgrade pumpgas. thanks, well its just a litle streetmotor built to...

Let me see you baddest Eddy headed small blocks..

yep they are around 700grams if i remember it right.. naa not a problem been past 7500rpms many times with them and no problems this engine had corrected stock rods earlier and has been turned lots higher in the past. they may be heavy but they also wont deform or flat out break for nothing...

Removing oil pan w/headers: 71 Duster?

cant say for sure but i would take the engine out to get the pan of,took me about 5 hours of frustration to change a oilpump with the engine still in the car, however i have a deep sump with a much longer pickuptube and i had to unbolt the headers for this since there was no way to lift the...

    Tunnelram and power Brakes?

dont thrust everything you hear, a tunnelramed motor isnt harder to tune compared to a singelcarb :) and they dont foul sparkplugs at all, they run great and looks very cool, and after running one for some time you can just smile at those saying they heard that a tunnelram is a pain:toothy8:

    Tunnelram and power Brakes?

works good, just a mather of not using the biggest cam in the catalog, you know the one on the bottom of the last page, the one that comes in a box with cutouts for the lobes;) realy not a problem

    engine paint

used white spirit after sanding it thought that would clean up any leftover oil,it wasnt bare metal it was some older enginepaint and i thought new paint should stick well to it after some sanding, its the oilpan so i dont realy care if its perfect just disturbing, gues i will start over when the...

    Hemi 360?

the hemi was not a wedgeblock,it was the first overhead valve V8 from mopar. later in the sixtys the first 426hemis war built on something similar to a rb block but with diferences the plan was probably to make it work with the old rb block without to many changes,it did now work. there was a...

What rpm do you shift at?????

yes it is,just imagine if the enginers would have put alitle more effort into getting the lifterposition and angle correct instead of keeping the old Poly patern.

mopar m1 intake or edelbrock air gap

where is the limit for a airgap in terms of how much air just two barrels can flow without being a restriction and considering the small plenum?

Will a 6 qt be enough?

like i said everylitle bit to help out may make a diference my old stock windage tray is very stiff compared to how thin it is and when a piece of metal is clamped down solidly it can act alot stiffer than it looks. i doubt it make a big diference but i dont doubt that it makes a diference,the...

What rpm do you shift at?????

yep they are probably alot better compared to alot of the new cheap rods being made today. and i think those old 340 rods may have been put thru alot harder tests in the past with heavy pistons back when there wasnt much more to chose from
  28. D

Will a 6 qt be enough?

Not saying Brian OU812 is wrong but couldnt the stock windage tray help out alitle keeping the mains tied togheter? may not make a big diference but every litle bit of help could be of use

Stock Rods the way they're ment to be!

hey thats kind of ok up there where the air is so dry, did 10months of service in the cold and beutifull north so i have a clue about how it is up there8) Ohtanajärvi sounds like far out in lappmarkerna!

What rpm do you shift at?????

dont try this with a roller... i have seen my tach jump past 8000 without a chip and without any valvefloat that i could hear when i blew a inputshaft, just cost me a pushrod just happy my stockrods swinging heavy TRW pistons did not chose to make a nice set of windows in the block.
